Yahoo! Settles Copyright Infringement Suit With Music Entertainment SME Grants Yahoo! License for Internet Radio Service Santa Monica, CA -- Jan. 27, 2003 -- Yahoo! Inc. (Nasdaq: YHOO), a leading global Internet announced today that it has settled, as to Entertainment Inc. (SME), the copyright infringement suit brought by SME and other major record labels in connection with Yahoo!'s Internet radio service, LAUNCHcast. In settling SME's claims, Yahoo! will make a one-time payment to SME for the prior use of its recordings in the LAUNCHcast service. In addition to resolving their dispute, Yahoo! has entered into a non-exclusive license to perform SME-controlled recordings in LAUNCHcast.
