The same can easily be said of Grammy Award nominated hard rock juggernaut ($18.98) Mastodon. The group’s four members recognize the importance of life’s omnipresent cycles on their sixth full-length album, Once More ‘Round the Sun. The band orbits around themes of loss and rebirth, twirling a sonic spiral of its signature robust riffing, hypnotically haunting soundscapes, triage of dynamic voices, and thundering seismic grooves. The very title says something slightly different for each member. "Quite literally, Once More 'Round the Sun means a year-in-the-life," explains Dailor. "Lyrically, we were discussing things that happened to us recently, whereas in the past we looked further back for inspiration. It's about 365 days in this band. It was a tough and strange journey. We happened to be in the middle of completing a full rotation musically as everything else was going on." A 543021 2LP (Explicit) ($36.98) ARTIST & INFO Hometown: Atlanta, GA Band Members: Troy Sanders (Bass), Brent Hinds (Guitar), Bill Kelliher (Guitar), Brann Dailor (Drums) “Mastodon have one hell of a career to live up to. Speaking of pressure to meet fan expectations, there’s arguably no metal act assumed to deliver brilliance on a regular basis like Mastodon.” – Loudwire Mastodon is a multi-Grammy nominated hard rock juggernaut. From public endorsements of peers as diverse as Metallica, Pearl Jam, Queens of the Stone Age, CeeLo Green, and Feist to unanimous praise from the likes of Time and Rolling Stone, the band has accrued a staggering string of accolades. Their latest, Grammy-nominated album, Once More ‘Round The Sun debuted at No. 6 on the Billboard chart—displacing their 2011 album, Hunter, as their highest U.S. chart debut ever. After completing their “5- Week Summer Program” in the Summer of 2005, I knew that there was something about this institution that uniquely suited my needs, my passion, and my dreams. I was always interested in traditional and contemporary music, as well as the ever-evolving technology that was used in its creation. Berklee truly felt like the only place where I could fully immerse myself in the study of music and music technology, while being surrounded by thousands of other scholars who were passionate about music or the music industry.

  • Lisa Donovan Has Been Hailed by Critics As an All- Around Entertainer Who Can Do It All
Lisa Donovan has been hailed by critics as an all- around entertainer who can do it all. As an actress, she won an award from the Southern California Motion Picture Council as "Outstanding Newcomer of the Year." As a singer, Lisa consistently receives rhapsodic reviews from the toughest critics in the business. As a comedienne, she's been praised for performing comedy with Lucille-Ball-like precision timing. And as a dancer, she received high critical praise from no less a publication than The New York Times. Lisa just finished a two-year run as Mother Superior in the delightful, world-famous musical comedy NUNSENSE at the now-named Westgate Hotel, formerly the Las Vegas Hilton, the hotel Elvis Presley called home. Lisa proved her enormous singing range on the long-running television show FACE THE MUSIC, which was broadcast first in national syndication and later on cable networks for more than a decade. On that show Lisa performed everything from soft rock to light opera and set some Guiness-type world records. In all, she sang parts of more than eleven thousand musical numbers. On the New York stage, Lisa starred in a revival of BABES IN ARMS, directed by the legendary Ginger Rogers, who hand-picked Lisa for the role. That's the play in which Lisa received all that praise from The New York Times, which actually likened her to a young Ginger Rogers. Lisa has performed non-musically as well. On the stage in Los Angeles, she played all three female roles in Sean Waldron's chilling drama about atomic radiation poisoning.

  • Brea Wardlaw Meigs Academic Magnet Middle School • Title
Brea Wardlaw Meigs Academic Magnet Middle School • Title: Actress • Job Description: An actor is a person who portrays a character in a performance (also actress; see below).[1] The actor performs "in the flesh" in the traditional medium of the theatre or in modern media such as film, radio, and television. The analogous Greek term is ὑποκριτής (hupokritḗs), literally "one who answers".[2] The actor's interpretation of their role—the art of acting—pertains to the role played, whether based on a real person or fictional character.* *Source: en.m.wikipedia.org • Why would I like to have this job? I’d like to be an actress because I LOVE to act. It’s fun because I can get to be a different person. It’s like being your own alter ego. I feel happy and powerful when I’m acting. The best thing about it is getting to tell a story in your own way, by acting the words you say (haha that rhymes!) What makes a good actress? To be a good actor/actress, you have to feel the part to be the part. And you have to be passionate about the role you are playing. Having chemistry and getting along with the other cast members is also a very important part of acting. A good actor/actress also needs to step out of his or her comfort zone, every once in a while so they can embrace themselves. Are you a good actress? I feel like I am. I feel like I have all of the right traits and abilities and the right personality.
