BAB III TINJAUAN PUSTAKA Dalam Membangun Aplikasi Peta Virtual BAB III TINJAUAN PUSTAKA Dalam membangun aplikasi peta virtual sebagai penunjuk arah yang dapat menampilkan informasi mengenai gedung FTIK ini perlu melihat beberapa acuan agar fungsi dalam aplikasi ini sesuai dengan kebutuhan pengunjung. Untuk itu perlu dipahami beberapa informasi data FTIK secara khusus sehingga tidak menimbulkan permasalahan dikemudian hari bagi pengguna aplikasinya. Google Maps API menyediakan beberapa fitur untuk memanipulasi peta, dan menambah konten melalui berbagai jenis services yang dimiliki, serta mengijinkan kepada pengguna untuk membangun aplikasi enterprise di dalam websitenya (Soepomo, 2013). Gambar 3. 1 Google Maps FTIK USM 9 Pengguna dapat memanfaatkan layanan-layanan yang ditawarkan oleh Google Maps setelah melakukan registrasi dan mendapatkan Google Maps API Key. Google menyediakan layanan ini secara gratis kepada pengguna di seluruh dunia. 3.3 Mapbox Mapbox adalah sebuah platform open source untuk membuat aplikasi mobile dan web khusus untuk maps, data, dan spatial analysis. Mapbox memiliki kelebihan diantaranya, memiliki data yang kuat, dapat mengatur gaya peta hingga detail terkecil, dapat mengunggah atau membuat custom data, dapat mengembangkan aplikasi mobile dan web dengan fitur yang lengkap, dapat membuat peta statis secara terprogram, dapat memperluas fungsionalitas aplikasi yang dibangun dengan web services untuk geocoding, directions, spatial analysis, dan banyak lagi. Mapbox mendukung beberapa aplikasi pengembang, diantaranya Mapbox GL JS yaitu JavaScript library, Maps SDK untuk iOS, Android dan React Native, dan juga Mapbox menyedikan SDK Maps untuk Unity dalam pengembangan aplikasi berbasis augmented reality. Mapbox juga menyediakan web services API, beberapa diantaranya, Mapbox Static API, Mapbox Geoding API, Mapbox Direction API, dan Analyze with Turf.js (JavaScript library untuk spatial analysis)(Yoga, 2019). 3.4 Android Android merupakan platform lengkap mulai dari Sistem Operasi, Aplikasi, Tool Developing, Market Aplikasi, dukungan vendor industri mobile, bahkan dukungan dari komunitas Open System. Tentu ini merupakan keunggulan yang tidak dimiliki oleh platform lain. Dengan melihat perkembangan saat ini, Android telah menjadi kekuatan yang luar biasa. It can be used to make video applications, music applications, games, editing software etc. The android operating system was showcased by Google after which android development started. The Google initially released the android operating system on 23th September 2008.Google hired some developers and started building applications which started app development and fast production of android applications. The applications and operating system for android are written in Java as the android is based on Linux so it was difficult at the start to write programs for android. But as the technical skills were improving to debug an application so it became easier for developers to solve the issues and debug the errors in the applications. The first android operating system was able to perform some basic task like messaging, calling, downloading some specific applications etc. After that Google released various versions of android operating system with newly added features and design. With every new version of android speed of device and user experience were getting much better in day to day life.
