    EXECUTIVE REPORT FOR THE YEAR APRIL 2016 TO MARCH 2017 This report covers the activities and achievements of Womens Golf South Africa for the above-mentioned period which was again, an exceedingly full year with several highlights. NATIONAL TOURNAMENTS NOMADS ROSE BOWL 54 HOLE GIRLS CHAMPIONSHIP, PORT ELIZABETH, 21 – 22 MARCH 2016 This was the 7th Rose Bowl Championship run by WGSA and 5th sponsored by Nomads; the event was hosted by Port Elizabeth Golf Club. The weather was indecisive starting out with heavy rain, then sunshine and winds, however play was not delayed. Our top 66 junior girls, 43 of them in the Championship division, enjoyed the challenges the course had to offer with a close finish. The winner was Catherine Lau (GN) (213 – 75, 69, 69), finishing three strokes ahead of Symone Henriques (GAU) (216). This was Catherine’s second Rose Bowl title as she won this prestigious event in 2013. The 10 to 18 handicap division was won by Cleo Jordaan (GN) on 252 (84, 85, 83) with La-eeqah Adams (WP) as runner up on 257. The Stableford Bronze division (19 – 25 handicaps) was won by Kristen Basson (WP) on 67 points. The D division was won by Mikah Poonawassy (NC) on 72 points. 3 Hole live scoring was provided for the duration of the tournament for all divisions in both stroke play and Stableford format. SANLAM SA WOMEN’S AMATEUR STROKE PLAY CHAMPIONSHIPS, WESTLAKE GOLF CLUB, 24 - 26 APRIL 2016 The beautiful Westlake Golf Course with its panoramic views was the venue for this 54 hole stroke play event comprising a total of 98 players, including entries from Zimbabwe.
