A large plastic button, displayed on the shirts of Cross students. It’s not a birthday, it’s a memorial. “He got shot.” “He got killed.” Most of the remembered have died at the enough. hands of others. “It happens all the time.” “It’s getting worse.” Enough. The bottom line here is nothing more than a sim- ple word: enough. Violence has gone too far in this country, and in this city. We have come to accept the unacceptable as normal. In what society is it normal to be afraid to leave your own home? Your home is supposed to be your safe haven. A place where you feel nothing can go wrong. A place where you can teach your children right from wrong and show them that they can be impor- tant, that they can make a difference in this world. That is what a home should be. Nothing can go wrong in your home. But if you con- sider the violence that has gone on in the city of New Haven since the beginning of the summer, nothing has gone right.

    PRODUCTION BIOGRAPHIES MIKE O’MALLEY (Executive Producer & Showrunner, Writer- 201, 207, 210) Truly a multi-hyphenate, Mike O’Malley got his start in front of the camera hosting Nickelodeon’s “Get the Picture” and the iconic game show “Guts”. His success continued in television with standout roles in “Yes Dear”, “My Name Is Earl”, “My Own Worst Enemy”, “Justified”, and his Emmy®-nominated, groundbreaking performance as ‘Burt Hummel’ on the hit show “Glee”. Mike’s feature work includes roles in Eat Pray Love, Cedar Rapids, Leatherheads, Meet Dave, 28 Days, and the upcoming Untitled Concussion Project starring Will Smith which will be released Christmas 2015. Also an accomplished writer, Mike wrote and produced the independent feature Certainty which he adapted from his own play. In television, Mike has served as a Consulting Producer on “Shameless” and is in his second season as creator and Executive Producer of “Survivor’s Remorse” for Starz. LEBRON JAMES (Executive Producer) LeBron James is widely considered one of the greatest athletes of his generation. James’ extraordinary basketball skills and dedication to the game have won him the admiration of fans across the globe, and have made him an international icon. Prior to the 2014-2015 season, James returned to his hometown in Ohio and rejoined the Cleveland Cavaliers in their mission to bring a championship to the community he grew up in. James had previously spent seven seasons in Cleveland after being drafted out of high school by his hometown team with the first overall pick in the 2003 NBA Draft. James led the Cavaliers to five straight NBA playoff appearances and earned six All-Star selections during his first stint in Cleveland.

    DIRECTOR BIOGRAPHIES KEN WHITTINGHAM (Director – Episodes 101 & 102) Ken Whittingham is an American television director who has been in the industry for over 25 years. He has directed episodes for a wide variety of television series including “Parks and Recreation,” “Brooklyn Nine- Nine,” “Suburgatory,” “Parenthood,” “About a Boy,” “30 Rock,” “The Middle,” “The Office,” “Entourage,” “Community,” “Scrubs,” “My Name is Earl,” “Everybody Hates Chris,” “Rules of Engagement,” “Gilmore Girls,” “King of Queens,” “The Bernie Mac Show,” “Yes, Dear,” “Still Standing,” and many more. Whittingham has been nominated for multiple NAACP Image Awards for “30 Rock,” “Parenthood,” “Entourage,” and “Everybody Hates Chris” and has won four times. He won for Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series for the “Parks and Recreation” episode “How a Bill Becomes a Law;” “30 Rock” for episode “The Funcooker;” and for “The Office” episodes “Phyllis’s Wedding” and “Michael’s Birthday.” PETER SEGAL (Director – Episode 103) Peter Segal is an award-winning film and television director, producer, and writer whose movies have grossed over $1.1 billion to date. He recently directed Robert De Niro, Sylvester Stallone and Kevin Hart in Warner Bros. boxing comedy Grudge Match. Before that, he teamed up with Steve Carell and Anne Hathaway and Dwayne Johnson in the big screen adaptation of Mel Brooks and Buck Henry’s legendary television series Get Smart, which made $230 million worldwide. In fact, that movie became Segal’s fifth consecutive film to gross over $100 million in domestic box office. A frequent collaborator with Adam Sandler, Segal has directed the actor in such films as 50 First Dates, with Drew Barrymore; Anger Management, which also starred Jack Nicholson, and The Longest Yard, currently the highest-grossing comedy remake of all time and the second-highest grossing sports comedy in history.

Date of review: Thursday 26th June, 2008 Director: Peter Segal Classification: PG Running time: 110 minutes We rate it: Four and a half stars. Like many people who mis-spent their youth watching too much television, I can remember a golden age of American TV comedy: it was characterised, for me, by the mid-1960s series created by Mel Brooks and Buck Henry, Get Smart. Born as a sort of comedic reaction to some of the more serious cold-war thrillers like Fail Safe and its Seven Days in May, Get Smart reduced the espionage landscape to an ongoing battle for supremacy between two shadowy spy agencies: the bad guys, K.A.O.S., and the good guys, CONTROL. Headed up by bungling spy-hero Maxwell Smart (who was of course anything but), and his wiser and far more competent “side-kick”, Agent 99, the CONTROL agency routinely foiled plots to explode bombs, assassinate Presidents, and generally destroy the balance of good and evil. Brooks and Henry created a series that is now legendary for its cheesy but still laugh- out-loud humour, which was given life by a game cast and a series of running gags that are now the stuff of TV folklore. Phrases like “Missed it by THAT much,” and “The old dart-gun in the fountain-pen trick” still have me rolling about laughing whenever they’re delivered, which many of my contemporaries find somewhat sad, I must admit.

    MARK IVANIR | BIOGRAPHY Mark Ivanir has been working as a professional film and television actor in Los Angeles since 2001. His first major film role was in Steven Spielberg's 1993 Oscar winning epic SCHINDLER'S LIST. He rejoined with Spielberg twice, first for a cameo appearance in TERMINAL, then again for THE ADVENTURES OF TINTIN. A pivotal role in Robert De Niro's 2006 film, THE GOOD SHEPHERD, landed Mark a role in Barry Levinson's WHAT JUST HAPPENED, this time acting alongside De Niro. Many films followed. Mark has booked over 35 Guest Star and Guest Lead roles on television. Ivanir's road to Hollywood was circuitous at best. Born in the communist Ukraine, he immigrated to Israel with his family in 1972. After being cast by Spielberg in SCHINDLER'S LIST, Ivanir moved to London to study with Philippe Gaulier and the actors of the Theater De Complicite. During this stint, he landed roles in THE MAN WHO CRIED (with Johnny Depp) and SECRET AFFAIR which encouraged him to relocate to Hollywood. Ever since, Mark has been working on films in the US, in Europe and in Israel. In Germany he has been working with Dennis Gansel on THE FOURTH STATE and with Dominik Graf on the highly acclaimed mini-series IN THE FACE OF THE CRIME. In Europe, Mark was also working with Fernando Meirelles on his episodic feature film 360. Most recently, Mark co-starred alongside Catherine Keener, Philipp Seymour Hoffman and Christopher Walken in A LATE QUARTET. Mark currently lives in Los Angeles with his wife and two daughters.

His Military service included Southeast Asia, Africa, Greece, Germany, Turkey, Africa, the Pentagon, and the Middle East. He is a licensed pilot; a Padi certified diver, and parachutist, trained in desert, jungle, and mountain survival. He is an experienced sailor, a kayaker, mountaineer, Bon vivant, lover of fine wines and avid cross-country skier Chris is a member of C.A.P.I.C., The Overseas Press Club, The American Society of Media Photographers, National Press Photographer's Association, Combat Photographer's Association, I.A.T.S.E. (roster member US Local 600, Canadian Locals 667 and 669).
