ROMA FILM COMMISSION Supporting film presentations and premieres

The Roma Lazio Film Commission is promoting the premieres of Holy Money by Maxime Alexandre and Nient’altro che noi by Angelo Antonucci, which were filmed in Lazio and will be presented in Rome in April. After collaborating with Lumiere Film to promote the premiere of Giulia non esce la sera by Giuseppe Piccioni, with Jean Vigò on Jealousy Day, and on the Roman launch of L’infedele Klara by Roberto Faenza, the Roma Lazio Film Commission is continuing its activity in support of the movie industry from developing coproduction projects to production, from exportation and promotion through the premiere and presentation phases.

Thursday, April 9, at Casa del Cinema, at 5:00 p.m., there will be a showing of Holy Money, a Belgian thriller by Maxime Alexandre, a director of photography who is debuting as a director after working for many years in the horror genre with directors such as Wes Craven and Alexandre Aja. The movie, which was filmed in English and produced by MOVIESTREAM, a Brussels company, by executive producers I.&L. Film of Roma and DAIDALOS PICTURES of Brussels, is adapted from La Commedià Des Ratés by the French‐Italian writer Tonino Benacquista. The book was recently published in under the title La Commedia dei Perdenti. The film was shot in six weeks at CIVITA DI BAGNOREGIO in Viterbese, on a budget of 8,000,000.00 euros, and stars Aaron Stanford, Valeria Solarino, Tiberio Murgia, Joaquim de Almeida and Ben Gazzarra. The film was presented with the collaboration of CHICANE, which coordinated product placement. The film will be released in the fall in Belgium and then in Italy.

Executive producers Daidalos Pictures and I.&L. Film are involved in new projects in Lazio. At the end of August filming will begin on Christopher Roth, directed by Maxime Alexandre. Filming is scheduled to begin on around (province of ), with the assistance of the Roma Lazio Film Commission. The new project is a horror thriller, a genre that already enjoys a passionate following. The film hopes to become part of this traditional Italian genre and pays homage to masters such as Mario Bava, Lamberto Bava and Dario Argento, to name only the genre’s most prolific [creators]. The cast includes Allan Corduner (Il Mercante di Venezia), Anna Galiena, and Francesco Guzzo.

Thursday, April 16, at the Cinema Nuovo Aquila, at 8:30 p.m., there will be a showing of Nient’altro che noi, written and directed by Angelo Antonucci, with Annica Rodolico, Andrea Lucente, Daniel Bondì, Francesca Rettondini, Philippe Leroy, Antonella Ponziani and Claudio Botosso. The film, which was produced by ELITE GROUP INTERNATIONAL, is based on a true story and deals with the problem of bullying, a hot topic straight from today’s headlines. Filmed in ROME, FIUMICINO and CIVITAVECCHIA, the film tells the story of Marco, who arrives at a new school “ruled” by a bully named Miki. Both the bully and his victim have a troubled family history. Thirty copies of the film will be released April 17.
