Information and Library Network (INFLIBNET )Centre an IUC of UGC, Ahmedabad Information and Library Network (INFLIBNET )Centre An IUC of UGC, Ahmedabad Under the aegis PMO/UGC, the INFLIBNET has taken-up the task of conducting the training programmes and provide library management software, i.e. SOUL (Software for University Libraries) for computerization of libraries in colleges in North East States. As a special drive the INFLIBNET has already conducted six batches of special training course for 102 librarians from colleges in North East Region at Ahmedabad & provided SOUL software. Centre intends to continue this special programme for the remaining colleges in North East Region under purview of UGC in consultation with its NERO office at Guwahati. List of colleges selected by NERO,UGC, Guwahati to undergo special Workshop on “Library Automation for College Libraries in North Eastern Region ” scheduled to be held from 13th to 17th July, 2009. As part of special drive for North Eastern Region, we hereby request you to kindly depute your librarian (only one person) to this Centre for attending training programme. The SOUL 2.0(New Version) software along with user manual will be provided free of cost. TThe participants will be paid TA/DA and provided with local hospitality (lodging, boarding etc.) as per rules applicable to this Centre. Please confirm your participation to below mentioned address; PS: Please note that travel by air is allowed to officers who are drawing basic pay of Rs.16400/- (in the pre revised pay scale) and above. Those officers drawing basic pay of Rs.12300/- and (in the pre revised pay scale) above but below Rs.16400/- may also travel by air on tour if the distance involved more than 500 KM and journey cannot be performed overnight (ordinarily covered between 6.00PM & 8.00PM) by direct train. In the case of particiapnts, whose pay/pay scale is revised based on the recommendations of 6th Pay Commission, the TA/DA etc. will be provided as per provisions contained in Annexure to Ministry of Finance, Depart of expenditure O.M.No. 1903/3/2008-E.IV dated 23.09.2008 (copy enclosed for ready reference.)
