SCHOOL UNIFORM BY TERM

The summer uniform is worn during the first (Summer) term; Winter uniform is worn during the second (Winter) term and during the third (Spring) term up until Parent’s Weekend, at which time the pupils revert to Summer uniform. Wearing of the correct uniform is to be strictly adhered to. Items that are not part of the official school uniform may not be worn to school.

Formal uniform (referred to as No. 1’s) are required from Grade 4 upwards for certain occasions, such as trips to town, museum visits, the Eisteddfod and some inter-school sporting events. In such instances, pupils are reminded of what they should wear. All shoes, clothing and items used for sports and games must be marked clearly.

• Ensure that all personal belongings including shoes, clothing, sports and musical equipment/ instruments are marked. • All school children must be in full uniform whenever visiting the school, even if they are watching siblings or friends play sport. • For formal events, Preppie girls wear the red jersey. • For girls playing on jungle gyms and doing the monkey bars, consider buying short black cycling pants High to wear underneath their school pinafore (gyms). It is important for pupils to wear the appropriate shoes for Phys Ed classes and/or sport. We would like for every child to be able to participate to the fullest each week and not miss out on an opportunity to have fun and exercise, due to inappropriate footwear.

Shoes must be athletic, running or tennis/squash shoes. They should be an all-purpose shoe and not a trail running shoe. The chosen/relevant sports shoe must provide heel and ankle support. Skater shoes/sneakers are unacceptable. Shoes must have shoelaces that are tied over the tongue. Velcro shoes are acceptable for use during sport or exercise. Slip on shoes or shoes without a heel support cannot be worn.

Shoes and socks must be worn at all times.

We acknowledge that it is increasingly difficult to find white trainers because of limited availability and quality of shoe. As a result, pupils are allowed to wear light-coloured trainers/takkies. Predominantly white and light grey shoes are advised (see below). On days that pupils are instructed to wear takkies to school, black or neutral-coloured takkies are allowed. Luminescent, brightly coloured shoes are not allowed to be worn. Please follow the guidelines below:
