Secular Franciscans Satisfy Spiritual Hunger
THE CATHOLIC PAGE 5 Clearing the past to prepare for the future March 17,ommentator 2017 Vol. 55, No. 3 SERVING THE DIOCESE OF BATON ROUGE SINCE 1963 thecatholiccommentator.org C SPREADING JOY Seniors delight in St. Joseph altar By Rachele Smith The Catholic Commentator Missy Marchand is proof that if you want something done, all you have to do is ask. Back in 2001, Marchand was serv- ing as the activities director for what is now Gonzales Healthcare Center. Always searching for new activities for the resi- dents, Marchand said she thought a St. Joseph altar would be “something nice they could enjoy.” However, there was just one problem. She knew she couldn’t do it alone. She would need help and lots of it. So, she turned to Nell Bercegeay and Bercegeay’s sister, Jane Rouyes, two of her best volunteers. “When Missy asked me to help, I really didn’t know the first thing about doing a Father Jason Palermo, pastor of St. Joseph Church in French Settlement, blesses a St. Joseph altar at Azalea Estates of Gonza- St. Joseph altar,” said Bercegeay, a parish- les, an assisted living center. Hi XX, I Am Working on a Project I Wanted to Put on Your Radar. Digital
Hi XX, I am working on a project I wanted to put on your radar. Digital media stars and Youtube heartthrob’s Kian & Jc have been taking the internet by storm with nearly 8.6M+ followers on YouTube and 680M+ views combined on their popular channel. When not winning Teen Choice Awards these digital influencers can also be seen in the traditional space with Lawley recently starring in Awesomeness Films’ “Before I Fall” and Tyler Perry’s “Boo! A Madea Halloween.” This powerful duo’s newest project “H8TERS” hilariously skewers hate-culture, fan-culture and everything in between proving that their acting chops warrant the spotlight. Kian & Jc are available for interviews and if you are interested in a sneak peek of the series I would love to help connect the dots. Additional information on the guys and series below. Look forward to hearing from you - Iris Chu “H8ters” follows youtube stars, Kian Lawley (“Before I Fall”) and Jc Caylen (“t@gged”), who play themselves as successful YouTube stars insecure about losing their fame. While embracing their uncertainty, they also take on roles as crazy fans, dog-bounty hunters, girlfriends, and their own biggest haters, Frank and Zweeb. The two mall-dwelling video game store employees make it their top priority to hate on and figure out ways to take down the social media heartthrobs. All 10 episodes of the Fullscreen and Astronauts Wanted collab, “H8ters”, will be available on Fullscreen’s subscription on demand service. About Kian: Kian is a YouTube phenom and actor who recently starred alongside Bella Thorne and Alex Neustaedter in “Shovel Buddies,” SXSW’s 2016 Narrative Spotlight Official Selection from Awesomeness Films. -
