EXPERIENCE

Responsibilities included: supervising attorneys and analysts who conduct investigations into whether voting changes, such as redistrictings, comply with Section 5 of the Act; conducting special projects related to the extension of certain provisions of the Act; drafting memoranda and providing advice concerning Department policy, including an assessment of the impact of a recent Supreme Court decision on the administrative enforcement of Section 5; and monitoring elections throughout the United States to ensure fairness and accuracy in the democratic process. Analyst from 1994 to 1996.
