Cabinet to make decision on IMF bailout: Umar Page NO.01 Col No.02 ISLAMABAD: Newly elected member of National Assembly (MNA) and expected finance minister, Asad Umar Friday did not rule out approaching the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for a bailout package, saying the upcoming cabinet will make a decision in this regard keeping the national interests in view. “Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government after taking oath would review every option and would take decision whatever is in the best interest of the country,” Umer said while talking to media persons outside the Parliament House on Friday. He further said that there are a lot of challenges, especially related to economy, which need to be resolved on priority basis. “We have to struggle for a better Pakistan and if opposition wants to play its part, it is welcome. Public has given responsibility to PTI and the party has to accomplish it. Improving living standard, economy and income of people is the mission of PTI’s democratically elected government,” Umer added. He further said it is a big challenge for the PTI government to ensure basic amenities of life to the masses. “We will have to create job opportunities for youth. We will improve the economy and Pakistan according to the wishes of the masses,” he added. PTI leader Naeem-ul-Haq said that Prime Minister-elect Imran Khan would address the nation on Sunday evening to announce the future line of action. He further said that Imran Khan will shift to a small house on Sunday. He further said that Imran Khan has directed to auction luxury vehicles parked at the Prime Minister’s Secretariat. Haq further said that Governor’s Houses in Lahore, Karachi, Murree and Nathiagali would be opened for general public and the money collected through visitors would be spent on public welfare. PTI Spokesperson Fawad Chaudhry said the opposition parties want ‘clean chits’ for Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supreme leader Nawaz Sharif and Pakistan Peoples Party Co- Chairman Asif Zardari. “The only dispute they have against the PTI is that they want Nawaz and Zardari to be given another National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO),” he added. He said Imran has two options before him: one to pardon them under an NRO and run the government trouble-free and the second is to fulfill his promise by waging a war against corruption and face the music. “Imran has categorically said nobody should expect an NRO from the PTI government. Neither would he forgive his party members nor members of the opposition parties if found involved in graft,” he said. To a query, Fawad said the opposition failed to precisely tell what and where rigging took place. “They are not serious in talking about rigging. Their only demand is to stop investigation against embezzlement, which is not going to happen,” he added. To another query, the PTI spokesman said if the PTI wishes so, there would be a forward bloc in the PML-N in the next 15 days; however his party wants democracy to flourish in the country. “We do not want creation of forward blocs in the political parties. The PML-N has a history of doing such politics,” he claimed. PTI leader Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar said the newly elected PTI government would ensure basic amenities of life to people. He said that today is the historic day for Pakistan. Sarwar said that his party would eradicate the menace of corruption from the country, adding that no one would be above the law. The law would be equal for every person, he further said. To a question, he said that PTI is the party of youth, adding that the party would bring the fundamental changes in the country. Sarwar said Imran waged a long struggle to achieve this milestone. Talking about across the board accountability, he said PTI members would present themselves for accountability. .
