Shane Bertsch, 64-64—128 (-14)

• Bertsch, who turned 50 on March 30, made his PGA TOUR Champions debut at The Ally Challenge, finishing T45 in the Tour’s first Return to Golf event. • The former Texas A&M golfer made 194 career starts on the PGA TOUR from 1993 through 2018, posting five top-10 finishes and just over $2.5 million in earnings. • Bertsch spent the vast majority of his pre-50 career on the , where he made 325 starts. He won three times during his career on the Korn Ferry Tour, including the 2005 BMW Charity Pro-Am, where he beat two-time Masters champion by two shots. The 2005 season marked his career-best as he finished eighth on the money list with five top-10 finishes. • As a junior growing up in Colorado, Bertsch was a top-10 tennis player before setting his sights in golf. At a national junior tournament one year in Denver, Bertsch drew eventual eight-time Grand Slam champion Andre Agassi in the first round, losing 6-0, 6-1. • So far this season, three of seven events have been won by members of the 2020 rookie class: (Morocco Champions), () and Jim Furyk (The Ally Challenge). ]\ • Bertsch was medalist at the 2019 PGA TOUR Champions National Qualifying Tournament where he gained fully exempt status for the 2020 season. • The last Q-school graduate playing out of the Q-school category to win was Ken Tanigawa at the 2018 PURE Insurance Championship.

Bernhard Langer, 68-64—132 (-10)

• Langer moved up 14 places on the leaderboard (T16) after carding eight birdies and posting a 7-under par 64 in the second round. • The 62-year-old became the Tour’s fifth-oldest winner when he claimed career victory No. 41 at the Cologuard Classic in March after coming back by four strokes. • The win was Langer’s 14th come-from-behind victory in an individual event on PGA TOUR Champions. • The largest deficit he has overcome on PGA TOUR Champions is by six at the 2012 3M Championship. • A five-time Charles Schwab Cup champion, Langer is currently No. 3 in the standings.

Kenny Perry, 67-65—132 (-10)

• Perry closed out the second round with an eagle on No. 18 to finish the day with a 6-under par 65. • The Kentucky native has five top-25 finishes in six starts so far this season. • Winner of the 2013 Charles Schwab Cup, Perry has won 10 times on PGA TOUR Champions and 14 times on the PGA TOUR. • Perry’s former longtime Fred Sanders, who was on the bag for 17 of his professional wins across two decades, is caddying for Shane Bertsch this week.

Wes Short Jr., 66-66—132 (-10)

• Posting four birdies and an eagle on No. 8, Short matched his first-round score of 5-under par 66. • Short has recorded two finishes in the top five in seven starts this season (T4, Mitsubishi Electric Championship at Hualalai; T4, The Ally Challenge). • A native of Austin, Texas, Short is a two-time PGA TOUR Champions winner, most recently at the 2019 . • His lone PGA TOUR title came at the 2005 Shriners Hospitals for Children Open when he beat Jim Furyk in a two-hole playoff.

Other Notes • Vijay Singh carded a bogey-free 5-under par 65 in the second round and is currently T5. The World Golf Hall of Fame member has won four times on PGA TOUR Champions with his first coming in 2017 at the Bass Pro Shops Legends of Golf at Big Cedar Lodge with partner . • On his 58th birthday, carded two eagles (Nos.1 and 8) and finished the front nine with a 6-under 29. After two bogeys on the back, Waldorf finished the day at 4-under 66. • Bob Estes (T64/+2) made a hole-in-one on the 191-yard No. 4 with a 6-iron. • Current Charles Schwab Cup leader carded a bogey-free 6-under 65 and is currently T7 heading into the final round.
