Name of object Purpose Christingle A small candle representing is placed in the top of an orange representing the world. Four cocktail sticks (representing the 4 corners of the world or the 4 seasons) with sweets, nuts, & raisins representing the fruits of the earth are pushed into the sides of the orange. A red ribbon tied around the middle of the orange represents the blood of Christ.

Palm Cross In many churches small crosses made from dried palm leaves are blessed and given on Palm Sunday as a reminder to Christians of the events they believe happened during Holy Week.

Bible The Christian holy book has two parts – the Old and New Testament. Christians believe God speaks to them through the holy book because it is inspired by the word of God. It has been translated in many languages.

Chalice and Paten Used during Communion service the cup is used to hold the wine and the plate is for the bread or wafers.

Plain Cross The empty cross is a reminder to Christians of the cross Jesus was crucified on, his sacrifice and resurrection.
