Chapman University College, Los Angeles Campus Presents a Book Signing by Diane Barrera Turner

ORANGE Calif., Jan. 9, 2004 Chapman University Colleges Los Angeles campus presents a book signing on Wednesday, Jan. 14, from 5:30 to 8 p.m.

The event will feature alumna Diane Barrera Turner signing her recently published book, The Promesa Strategy, which describes the trials and successes of a young Latinas race for a congressional seat representing Southern California’s San Fernando Valley. Author Ray Bradbury, a friend of Turners, will attend the event.

Turner worked in numerous health care corporations in California and collaborated extensively with the Latino population, developing diabetic, pre-natal and vision programs. She is the immediate past president and co-founder of the Washington Latino Business Association and is the owner of IMPACTO, a business concerned with providing training and business development. Turner holds a bachelors degree in speech communication from California State University, Long Beach, and a masters degree in organizational leadership from Chapman University College.

Special guest Ray Bradbury, accomplished American novelist, short story writer, essayist, playwright, screenwriter and poet, will offer his views on Promesa Strategy. Mr. Bradburys works include The Martin Chronicles, , Fahrenheit 451, The October Country, , A Medicine for Melancholy, Something Wicked This Way Comes, I Sing the Body Electric, Quicker Than the Eye and . He has published more than 30 books, close to 600 short stories and numerous poems, essays and plays.
