Google Statistics

• Google processes 100 billion searches a month • Averaging 40,000 search queries every second • 89.3% of all internet searches are carried out by Google • Searches are carried out by 1.17 billion unique users • Every day, 16 to 20% of that day’s queries have never been asked before • Google has answered 450 billion unique queries since 2003 • More than half of Google’s searches come from mobile devices • By 2014, Google had indexed 30,000,000,000,000 pages of the internet • To carry out all these searches, Google’s data center uses 0.01% of worldwide electricity

• Avoid controversial subjects like sex, religion, and politics.

Discuss focused aspects, personal brand that comes through, type of audience for which it aims, etc. • Search each student’s LinkedIn profiles and review attributes as a group: • Can you tell the type of industry/organization that is of interest? • Detailed enough? Too much? • Appropriate picture/content • Improvements/Modifications suggested • What is the overall ‘personal brand’? • Will this profile make a good first impression to a recruiter or boss? • Review each student’s profile
