MURDER CASE OF PS SOLVED WITHIN 12 HOURS

With the arrest of five accused persons, the murder case of Ariyankuppam Police Station has been solved within 12 hours.

On 21.12.18, a case of ‘Murder’ was reported at Ariyankuppam Police Station on the complaint of Shri. Ajithkumar, r/o Chinna Irusampalayam, Dt. (TN), that on the same day evening, his father, viz., Chandiran was killed by a gang of five accused persons at . The investigation of the case was taken up in the right earnest under the leadership of SP(South) Abdul Rahim, who led the team, comprising of Inspector Senthilkumar, SIs Ilango & Chandrasekaran and Men of Ariyankuppam Police Station. The Police team deployed sources in the area and extensively examined the witnesses and locals. The tactful and sincere efforts revealed the real motive for the murder and finally, the Police team located the accused persons, who were on the run across Puducherry and Tamilnadu areas. On 21.12.18, the Police team laid separate traps and the accused persons, viz., (1) Ranjith @ Ranjithkumar (28 yrs), s/o Madhusoothanan, (2) Kalaivanan @ Kalai (24 years), s/o Ramalingam, (3) Madhubalan @ Manikandan (26 years), s/o Iyyanar, (4) Rooban (19 years), s/o Ezhumalai and (5) Vinoth (22 years), s/o Iyyappan – all are residents of Nonankuppam, Puducherry, have been arrested. They have confessed to their crime. The confession led to the recovery of the blood-stained clothes, knives, Mobile phones & bikes. The confession revealed that the accused Ranjith @ Ranjithkumar and his parents are doing money-lending business. Accordingly, they had lent money to three persons in the locality about 2 years back. When the accused Ranjith @ Ranjithkumar demanded the interest amount from them, they denied to give and also asked him to get the interest amount from the deceased person Chandiran. When Chandiran was approached by the accused Ranjith @ Ranjithkumar, the latter was abused by Chandiran. Further, Chandiran lodged a complaint at Reddichavady Police Station (TN), leveling allegation that the accused Ranjith @ Ranjithkumar was collecting abnormal interest amount, for which, the accused Ranjith @ Ranjithkumar was called to the Police Station and he was warned. So, the accused Ranjith @ Ranjithkumar could not able to collect the interest amount from the borrowers and this has infuriated him to kill Chandiran.

The accused Ranjith @ Ranjithkumar had a plot with his associates to kill Chandiran and they followed him for the past 15 days. On the day of incident, i.e., 21.12.18 at about 03.00 PM, when the deceased Chandiran was riding on his bike from Angalankuppam to Nonankuppam, he was waylaid by the accused persons and he was killed by inflicting grievous injuries by knives.
