Part 1 - Acalyptratae. – Acta Mus. Siles. Sci. Natur. 69: 1-19, 2020. Abstract: Records of 18 species of the families Micropezidae (1 species), Lonchaeidae (1 species), Lauxaniidae (1 species), Chamaemyiidae (6 species), Agromyzidae (6 species) and Chloropidae (3 species) from glacial sand deposits in the Czech Silesia (NE Czech Republic) are presented and their association with sandy habitats is discussed. All of them are recorded from the Czech Silesia for the first time, 4 are new additions to the fauna of Moravia and 9 for the whole Czech Republic. None of the recorded species is psammobiont but five of them are classified as psammophilous, viz. Micro- peza lateralis Meigen, 1826 (Micropezidae), Calliopum geniculatum (Fabricius, 1805) (Lauxaniidae), Cerodontha (Xenophytomyza) leptophallus L. Papp, 2016, Ophiomyia disordens Pakalniškis, 1998 (both Agromyzidae), Aphanotrigonum parahastatum Dely-Draskovits, 1981 (Chloropidae), and Leucopis celsa Tanasijtshuk, 1979 as probably psammophilous. A new easternmost record of M. late- ralis (from S. Poland: Godów) is presented and the association of this species and C. geniculatum with growths of Cytisus scoparius is confirmed. Leucopis monticola Tanasijtshuk, 1961, L. celsa and A. parahastatum are recorded from northernmost known localities. These species, and also C. -

Delfinado2 Abstract: The Bezzi Diptera collection now in the Museo Civico di Storia Naturale, Milano, contains the original series of many of the species from the Philippines collect ed by C. F. Baker, and lectotypes have been selected from these. This paper lists the type specimens of Philippine Diptera described by M. In his "Studies in Philippine Diptera, I and II" the original description does not state the number of specimens in the original series and no type material was mentioned or des ignated. -

Influence of various farmland habitats on abundance of Taeniaptera (Diptera: Micropezidae) Érica Sevilha Harterreiten-Souza1,2, José Roberto Pujol-Luz1, and Edison Ryoiti Sujii2,* Abstract Stilt-legged flies play an important ecological role in the process of decomposition of organic matter and, on occasion, in the biological control of insects. Currently, there are 46 known species of Taeniaptera Macquart (Diptera: Micropezidae), and their occurrence is reported in various environments throughout the tropics. In contrast, population information on their temporal and spatial distribution is scarce in areas of the Cerrado biome in Brazil, where habitats are highly disturbed and fragmented by agricultural practices and, therefore, the abundance of the group may change. This study as- sessed abundance of Taeniaptera species in habitats associated with farmland, and determined the change in abundance throughout the year. The stilt- legged flies were sampled in various habitats, namely, organically produced vegetable crops, fallow areas, agroforestry, and native vegetation associated with 4 farms located in the Federal District. In each habitat, one Malaise trap was installed, which remained in place for 72 h, at 14 d intervals, from Mar 2012 to Feb 2013. In total, 486 individuals were collected and identified as members of the speciesT. lasciva (F.), T. annulata (F.), and Taeniaptera sp. The mean abundance of flies was highest in vegetable crops when compared with other habitats, and the abundance was relatively steady throughout the year. Among the habitats sampled, vegetable crop systems were the most suitable habitats for conserving Taeniaptera species. (2016) that description of typeless species (new species described based on field photographs) can be fatal for the practice of taxonomy which will succumb to an uncontrollable stream of “species of questionable delimitation” are, in our opinion, exaggerated. The Code already pro- tects taxonomic practice from subjectivity quite well by limiting opportunities for descriptions of new spe- cies based on field photos by rigid requirements, and only skilled taxonomists with extensive knowledge of a group are capable of fulfilling them. If a taxonomist has omitted to compare the new typeless species with the known species externally similar to it, the latter cannot be diagnosed and its name in that case becomes nomen nudum. -

ZooKeys 744: 139–147. https://doi.org/10.3897/zookeys.744.22347 Abstract The results of manual dissection of the musculature of the male genitalia in Nothybus kuznetsovorum are fully confirmed by the modern methods of Micro-CT. A comparative analysis of Neria commutata and Cothornobata sp. shows that an increase in the flexion in the genitalia of males and the displacement of syntergosternite VII to the ventral side in Cothornobata sp. caused the disappearance of the muscles ITM6–7r and ITM7–8r. In addition, this increase in flexion apparently caused the fusion of the M18 muscles into one bundle. -

Die Blüthe dieser Pflanze hat einen starken Fleischgeruch, sodass sie sogar schon Geier angezogen hat. Da die Thiere nicht sehr gut erhalten waren, konnten sie nicht genau bestimmt werden. Es waren: 2 verschiedene Lucilia sp. ungefähr je 6 Exemplare, Conipromyia macellaria F. 12 Exemplare. 1 Tachinc gen. et sp. incert, 1 $ von Musca domestica L., 2 (^ 2 $ einer Sarcophaga sp., 1 (^ 6 $ von Ophyra aenescens Wiedem. Musca domestica war bis dahin nicht von Trinidad bekannt. Verf. macht noch einige biologische Be- merkungen über das Vorkommen von Dipteren in stark riechenden Blüthen. — (2).
