Dans le groupe G, l’Équipe de France sera opposée à l’Allemagne, la Jordanie et la République Dominicaine à la Bay Sports Center de Shenzhen. À l’issue de cette phase, les deux premières équipes de chaque groupe se qualifieront pour le 2e tour. Les deux dernières équipes de chaque groupe joueront les matchs de classement pour les places 17-32. Si la France se qualifie, elle basculera dans le groupe L à Nanjing et croisera avec le groupe H. Les résultats des trois premiers matchs du premier tour sont tous conservés au deuxième tour. Chaque équipe affronte les deux équipes contre lesquelles elle n’a pas joué durant le premier tour. Les deux meilleures équipes de chaque groupe se qualifieront pour les quarts de finale. Les deux dernières équipes de chaque groupe seront éliminées et classées 9-16. 7 Informations concernant les matchs de classement : FIBA.com La qualification pour les Jeux Olympiques de Tokyo (24 juillet au 9 août 2020) passera par la Coupe du Monde FIBA, via une qualification directe ou via un Tournoi de Qualification Olympique (TQO). La Coupe du Monde 2019 qualifiera directement 7 équipes pour les Jeux Olympiques de Tokyo 2020 : Les deux équipes européennes les mieux classées Les deux équipes américaines les mieux classées La meilleure équipe africaine classée La meilleure équipe asiatique classée La meilleure équipe océanienne classée Les 16 équipes suivantes les mieux classées, accompagnées de 8 autres équipes (2 par région), seront reversées dans les 4 TQO. Le classement mondial FIBA Hommes, publié après la Coupe du Monde de basketball FIBA, déterminera ces équipes. Ensuite, les équipes victorieuses des TQO seront qualifiées pour participer aux JO. Avec le Japon (pays organisateur) déjà qualifié, ce sont 12 équipes qui disputeront les JO. 8 L’Équipe de France débutera sa préparation pour la Coupe du Monde le 27 juillet prochain.
