Boasting expanded capability, versatility and performance, Dodge conquers yet another segment and charges into the Class 3 chassis cab segment with the introduction of the all-new 2007 Dodge Ram 3500 Chassis Cab, introduced here today at the National Truck Equipment Association (NTEA) Show.

Expanding both brand reach and the Dodge Ram portfolio, the all-new 2007 Dodge Ram 3500 Chassis Cab builds on Dodge’s leadership position in the heavy-duty market and combines commercial capability, durability and leading versatility in a vehicle targeted at small business tradesmen, fleet customers and traditional chassis cab users looking for more cab space, enhanced functionality and bold styling.

“With the all-new 2007 Dodge Ram 3500 Chassis Cab joining the Dodge Sprinter, Dodge , Dodge Ram Box-off models, and and Grand Caravan cargo in the Dodge commercial vehicle lineup, Dodge grows even stronger in the commercial vehicle segment,” said Joe Veltri, Director — Body-on-frame Product Planning and Marketing, Group. “With the addition of the Dodge Ram 3500 Chassis Cab, Dodge offers a lineup of innovative and capable commercial vehicles and services that provide business customers with the confidence to take on any work challenge.”

Commercial vehicles are defined as all vehicles sold to businesses, organizations and individuals who use the vehicle primarily for business purposes. The Class 3 chassis cab segment’s volume for 2005 was 117,000 units.

Building on Dodge’s rich commercial heritage, the all-new 2007 Dodge Ram 3500 Chassis Cab enters the marketplace as the Class 3 segment’s most upfit-friendly vehicle and marks the company’s return to a business segment it has been out of since 2001.

Representing a new entry for Dodge in the chassis cab segment while addressing a white space for Dodge in this segment, the all-new 2007 Dodge Ram 3500 Chassis Cab is the first Ram product exclusively designed for the chassis cab market, offering an upfit-friendly design that does not require expensive re-engineering for body installations. A true medium-duty work truck boasting numerous best-in-class claims and an all-new commercial- grade chassis, the Dodge Ram 3500 Chassis Cab will be “Job-Rated,” meaning it is designed, engineered, tested and built to meet the rigid set of commercial truck buyer standards.

Bolstering Dodge’s position as a competitive player in the commercial vehicle market, the all-new 2007 Dodge Ram 3500 Chassis Cab’s innovative upfitter- and user-friendly chassis delivers commercial-grade reliability and durability with industry-standard 34-inch frame rail spacing, flat, “clean” frame rails and a proprietary design that places all chassis components below the top of the frame surface — a segment exclusive. Offered in single-rear-wheel and dual-rear-wheel models, two cab-axle lengths (60 and 84 inches) are available.

Dodge Commercial Vehicles As part of DaimlerChrysler, the world’s leading manufacturer of commercial vehicles, Dodge continues to increase the breadth of its commercial products and offers a comprehensive array of vehicles and services designed with business customers in mind. Dodge Caravan and Grand Caravan cargo vans complement a growing Dodge commercial lineup that includes the Dodge Ram 2500/3500 Box-off models — utilized for a host of flat-bed, utility and service body applications — and the Dodge Sprinter, which continues its legacy and leadership as the top-performing commercial in the marketplace.
