The sustainable development without the environment damaging that all activities are recommended, so that between the nature and humans can be worked simultaneously. The purpose of study is maintaining the natural conditions as they are and not to be undermined by irresponsible actions. All of them are facilitated by the government, while maintaining the Osing culture community and expanding the region and make it more widely known. The maintenance of the natural existing resources should be as good as possible, so that it can be passed on future generations in well condition. All of the resources, can be redeveloped in future. The research method used qualitative-descriptive-explorative method which are sorting the datas object. The activities should have involved and relevant with the stakeholders such as the local government, the community leaders or non-governmental organizations and the broader community. The reciprocal relationships between human beings as residents and the environment are occurred as their daily life. Their life will become peaceful when the nature is domesticated. Many of the uniqueness of Madura language that is not used in the speech, replaced with the Indonesian language. Recently, in Madura language communication, it is found the use of lexical elements that are not in accordance with the phonological rules of Madura Language. Consequently, in the future, Madura language will increasingly lose its uniqueness as a language, instead it will appear more as a dialect of the Indonesian language. Nowadays, the insecurity of Madura language has begun to appear with the shrinking use of this language in communication. Therefore, if there is no a very serious and planned effort, Madura language will be extinct soon; No longer claimed as language, but will only become one of the dialects of the Indonesian language. CHAPTER I INTRODUCTION This chapter presents five subtopics, namely; research background, research questions, research objective, research limitation and research significance. 1.1 Research Background Language is essentially a speech of the mind and feeling of human beings on a regular basis, which uses sound as a tool (Ministry of National Education, 2005: 3). Language is a structure and meaning that is free from its users, as a sign that concludes a goal (HarunRasyid, Mansyur&Suratno 2009: 126). Language is a particular kind of system that is used to transfer the information and it is an encoding and decoding activity in order to get information (Seken, 1992). The number of languages in the world varies between (6,000-7,000) languages. However, the right estimates depend on arbitrary changes between various languages and dialects. Natural language is sign language but each language can be encoded into a second medium using audio, visual, or touch stimuli, for example, in the form of graphics, braille, or whistles. This is because human language is an independent modality. All languages depend on a symbiotic process to connect signals with certain meanings. In Indonesia there are many very beautiful cities and many tribes that have different languages and are very interesting to learn. One of the cities to be studied is Banyuwangi Regency. Banyuwangi Regency is a district of East Java province in Indonesia. This district is located in the easternmost part of Java Island. Banyuwangi is separated by the Bali Strait from Bali. Banyuwangi City is the administrative capital. The name Banyuwangi is the Javanese language for "fragrant water", which is connected with Javanese folklore on the Tanjung. -

Indonesian Presidential Election 2019 East Java: Deadheat in a Battleground Province By Alexander R. Arifianto and Jonathan Chen SYNOPSIS Home to roughly 31 million eligible voters, both President Joko Widodo and his opponent Prabowo Subianto are currently locked in a statistical deadheat in East Java – a key province in which the winner is likely to become Indonesia’s next president. COMMENTARY FOR BOTH contenders of the 2019 presidential election – incumbent President Joko ‘Jokowi’ Widodo and his challenger Prabowo Subianto − East Java is a “must win” province. East Java has a total population of 42 million − including an estimated 31 million citizens who are eligible to vote in the 2019 Indonesian general election. It is Indonesia’s second largest province measured in terms of its population. East Java is generally considered a stronghold of Jokowi. This is because he won handily against Prabowo in the province – with a margin of six percent – during the pair’s first presidential match-up in 2014. Most experts expect Jokowi to have a strong advantage in East Java because of the dominance of two political parties within the president’s coalition, the Indonesian Democratic Party Struggle (PDIP) − which traces its lineage to Indonesia’s founding president Sukarno, and the National Awakening Party (PKB) − which is affiliated with Nahdlatul Ulama (NU), Indonesia’s largest Islamic organisation. -

Income of Madura cattle farmers in Madura island of East Java province of Indonesia Riszqina*1,2, Isbandi1, E Rianto1, SI Santoso1 Faculty of Animal and Agricultural Science, Diponegoro University, Semarang; 2Department of Animal Husbandry, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Madura, Pamekasan, Indonesia Abstract Madura cattle are indigenous in Madura Island of Indonesia, which are raised for beef/ draught, racing (karapan) and beauty contest (sonok). The purpose of this study is to determine the farmer income of beef/ draught cattle, racing bull and contest cows business in Madura Island, and to determine which business gives the greatest advantage to the farmers. This study involved 240 beef cattle farmers, 135 racing bull farmers and of 145 beauty contest cows farmers from all over Madura Island. Data collected were analysed for fixed costs, variable costs, total costs, revenue, income, benefit-cost ratio (B/C ratio). The results showed that the average income/head/year in beef/draught, racing and beauty contest cattle were IDR. 6,698,017; IDR. -8,218,347; and IDR. 447,880, respectively. The average value of B/C ratio in the beef/draught cattle business, racing bull and cow contest were -0.51, -0.20 and 0.04, respectively. It is concluded that cow contest business has the best advantage based on the aspects of farmer's income and B/C ratio. Nur Awaliyah Putri Magister of Linguistics, Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Universitas Gadjah Mada [email protected] ABSTRACT Sumenep Regency is considered as the center of Madurese culture and its people emphasize the importance of a stylistic level to speak to other people who are younger, same age or older than them. This research aims to find out the language maintenance and shift of Madurese stylistic level among youths in Sumenep Regency. The writer focuses on three Madurese stylistic levels which are enjâ’ iya (used to younger addressee), éngghi enten (used to same age addressee) and éngghi bunten (used to older addressee). The writer chooses as many as 50 youths, consisted of 25 females and 25 males, with age ranged from 14 to 18 years old as the respondents of this research. The writer asks them to fill in questionnaire items focused on the respondents’ self-perception about the proficiency and the usage of enjâ’ iya, éngghi enten and éngghi bunten, and the language attitude towards Madurese. The writer analyzes the data by using descriptive statistic technique. The result shows that there is a maintenance of the usage of enjâ’ iya to speak to younger people, and the usage of éngghi bunten to speak to older people, and there is a shift of the usage of éngghi enten to enjâ’ iya to speak to people with same age. -

Wisata Menanggal 42 A, Surabaya, Indonesia Abstract This study is to investigate the factors influencing the positive attitude of residents in Sumenep towards tourism development of Gili Labak Beach. Using exploratory factor analysis, independent t-test and Anova to process 150 data from respondents measured by adopting with some adjustment of TIAS statements, this study found four factors influencing the residents’ attitude, namely: image of town (Factor 1), new job opportunity (Factor 2), possibility to raise buying-power (Factor 3) and more tourism destinations (Factor 4). Some of respondents have different attitudes toward the tourism development according to the characteristics they have, such as age, education background and current occupation but there are no different (the same) attitudes of respondents shown if the measurements are based on gender, length of stay, distance from site, occupation and income related to each factor assigned. Democracy and Patrimonial Politics in Local Indonesia Nankyung Choi Introduction After a decade of political and administrative reform and several rounds of competitive elections, Indonesia, by most accounts, displays a democratic political system. There is little consensus on the character of the country's democracy, however. Optimists have called Indonesia one of Southeast Asia's most vibrant democracies, a claim that, upon a moment's reflection, says remarkably little. It is no coincidence that many sunny accounts of Indonesia's politics are fixated on Jakarta and national politics, providing a decidedly thin understanding of the actual state of Indonesia's political institutions. By contrast, analysts of the country's local politics, though cognizant and appreciative of the country's significant democratic gains, have presented evidence that questions the quality of the country's democratic institutions.1 These more critical accounts show that, despite the presence of elections, competitive political parties, and a relatively free press, Indonesia's politics are frequently determined by such non-democratic mechanisms as corruption, intimidation, and clientelism.
