We'll look at the emotional impact of financial decisions and how you can use your wealth to live a great life. Thank you for tuning in. Crystal Cooper: I'm sitting here with Rob Vaka, Director of Player Engagement for SignaturePRO, which is a community within SignatureFD. Hi, Rob. Thanks for joining us. Rob Vaka: Oh, Crystal, it's awesome to be here. Crystal Cooper: And if you're not familiar, SignatureFD has these initiatives within the firm. So essentially there are these client communities that cater to the specific needs of clients, and SignaturePRO caters to athletes. If you want to talk a little bit about that, Rob, kind of what SignaturePRO does. And Director of Player Engagement is your official title, and that's kind of interesting for a wealth management company. What does that mean? Rob Vaka: Well, first of all, I'm wildly passionate about athletes and the athlete persona and the athlete journey. Having played college football myself, having continued to be really passionate about the sport of football and other sports, having a son who plays eighth-grade football and a daughter who runs track and cross- country, and having known professional athletes for at least a decade, I'm personally very, very passionate about what happens to these young men, particularly after they're done playing.

  • For Immediate Release Base Productions Ties the Knot with Divorce Hotel to Develop Television Serie
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE BASE PRODUCTIONS TIES THE KNOT WITH DIVORCE HOTEL TO DEVELOP TELEVISION SERIES Award‐Winning Television Production Company Secures Worldwide Rights at MIPCOM to Produce Show for Domestic, International Markets Cannes, France – October 6, 2011 – Ten‐time Emmy Award winning television production company BASE Productions secured the rights to develop and produce television series and other properties based on the Divorce Hotel concept with Dutch entrepreneur and Divorce Hotel CEO Jim Halfens. In response to the fact that more than 50% of marriages worldwide end in divorce ‐ and that most divorces drag on for months or even years of bitterness and legal fees ‐ Jim Halfens launched the company to change the game of getting un‐hitched. The television series will profile couples as they check into their five‐star accommodations as a married couple and check out as divorcees, all in a single weekend. BASE Productions is shaping the format and series for domestic and international markets. "Couples in our hotels realize that a positive approach is the beginning of a new chapter in their lives," said Jim Halfens, CEO of Divorce Hotel. "Our experts help divorcees avoid years of costs and misery and focus on the future. We enable them to get on with their lives literally overnight." Launched on Valentine’s Day in 2011, the concept behind the Divorce Hotel is unique, a kind of “Splitz‐Carlton,” streamlining the divorce process for couples in a comfortable and neutral setting. However, not just any couple can sign up to begin the process. The Divorce Hotel vets its candidates through an intensive interview process to ensure the greatest chance of success.
