Mr. Jean-Paul Bouttes Mr. Jean-Paul Bouttes is EDF’s (Electricité de France) Strategy and Prospective Executive Vice-President and member of the EDF Group Steering Committee. He is a member of the Study Committee of the World Energy Council. Mr. Bouttes is a graduate from Ecole Polytechnique and from Ecole Nationale de la Statistique et de l’Administration Economique.

Mr. Didier Houssin Mr. Didier Houssin is the Director of Sustainable Energy Policy and Technology at the International Energy Agency. He has gained great expertise throughout his career as a Director of Energy Markets and Security at the IEA and from numerous positions both within the French Government and the industrial sector. He graduated from the ENA and holds a Master degree in International Law.

Mr. Daniel Johansson Mr. Daniel Johansson is the State Secretary to the Minister for Information Technology and Energy, Ms. Anna-Karin Hatt. His areas of responsibility are Information Society, Energy and Environmental Technologies. He was previously the State Secretary to the former Minister for Enterprise and Energy, . Before 2006, he worked at SEB, Nordea and Swedbank.

Mr. Laurent Michel Mr. Laurent Michel is the General Director for Energy and Climate at the French Ministry for Ecology, Sustainable Development and Energy. Prior to that, he held the position of Director for risk and pollution prevention. Educated as an engineer at the renowned Corps de Mines, he specialized in the field of risk management. He has contributed considerably to numerous policy measures in this field.

Mr. Andreas Regnell Mr. Andreas Regnell has been Head of strategy and sustainability at Vattenfall AB since 2010. He worked previously at the Boston Consulting Group, as a Senior Partner and Managing Director at their Nordic division. He has a deep experience working with the , as he has conducted a number of Vattenfall projects, as well as other state-run bodies.

Mr. Ramon A. Wyss, Moderator

Mr. Ramon A. Wyss is Professor of theoretical nuclear physics at the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) in Stockholm. He is Vice-President responsible for international affairs at KTH and Director of KTH Energy Platform. Apart from being engaged in several international educational and research programs, Mr. Wyss is Secretary General of CLUSTER, a network of 12 European universities focusing on science and technology. He holds a PhD in Nuclear Physics.

Mr. Julien Bargeton Mr. Julien Bargeton is Vice-Mayor of Paris in charge of mobility, transports and public area. Furthermore, he is Vice-President of the Syndicat des Transports d'Île de France (STIF) as well as President of Syndicat Mixte Autolib (large scale electric car sharing system in Paris). Accordingly, he is very experienced in the field of energy efficient urban planning.

Mr. Stéphane Basset-Chercot He joined Total in 1999 and held several positions in Retail and Commercial Sales Operations in France and the UK. Between 2010 and 2012, he took part in the task force in charge of selling the Total Retail and Fuel Distribution assets in the UK, before joining the Nothern, Central and Eastern Europe & CIS Division to look after Total development in Bitumen and Lubricants in Russia. He has been appointed Managing Director of Total Nordic in September 2012.

Mr. Björn Birgisson, Moderator Holding a PhD in Civil Engineering from the University of Minnesota, Mr. Björn Birgisson is currently Vice-President of Research for KTH - Royal Institute of Technology and Professor of Highway and Railway Engineering. Professor Birgisson’s research on pavements and railway tracks focuses on performance based design, operations and maintenance, vehicle-road interaction, innovative construction materials, and the mechanics of degradation and failure.

Mr. Mats Helmfrid Mr. Mats Helmfrid is the Mayor of Lund. Mr. Helmfrid is an active member in the local community since he joined the in the late 1970s. Before becoming a full-time elected official in 2006, he held various positions in the City of Lund, in which he developed a special interest for city development, infrastructure and sustainability.

Ms. Birgitta Resvik Ms. Resvik is Vice-President of the Finnish Fortum Corporation, which plays a central role in electricity generation and distribution for the Nordic and Baltic States as well as for Poland and Russia. The company aims towards relying on carbon free energy solutions and is therefore involved in several sustainable energy projects.

Mr. Vincent Tourette In 2012 Mr. Tourette became CEO of Renault Nordic and worked before with Renault in Switzerland, France, England and the Netherlands. To date, the efforts of Mr. Tourette and his team have been recognized by MRF (Motormännens Riksförbund), nominating Renault Nordic to “Rocket of the Year” for the fastest improvements over the year. His current ambition involves introducing Renault’s more efficient engines and electric car series to the Nordic market.

Workshop 2: 11:00 – 12:15 Nuclear Energy: what contribution to a low- carbon and sustainable economy?

Mr. Bertrand Barré Mr. Bertrand Barré is Scientific Advisor to the Chairperson of AREVA and Professor Emeritus of nuclear Engineering at the French National Institute for Nuclear Sciences and Technologies (INSTN). From 1967 to 2003, he spent most of his career in the French Atomic Energy Commission (CEA) and in Areva, alternating scientific and managerial positions. He has and still does hold several positions in various international expert committees such as IAEA, Euratom, ENS, INSC and INEA.

Ms. Saïda Laârouchi-Engström Vice-President of the Swedish Nuclear Fuel and Waste Management Company SKB, Ms. Laârouchi-Engström is working with her company on a system that manages the disposal of radioactive waste from Swedish nuclear power plants in such a way as to ensure maximum protection for people and environment. In 2012 she received the French order Légion d’Honneur due to the central role she has been

playing in the French-Swedish cooperation on nuclear waste issues.

Mr. Jean-Yves Le Déaut Mr. Jean-Yves Le Déaut has been member of the French National Assembly since 1986 (Socialist Party). Being himself a scientist by training, he has assumed several university teaching positions and is presently Vice-President of the Parliamentary Office for Scientific and Technological Assessment. In this context, he has conducted numerous studies on topics related to nuclear waste or renewable

energies.

Ms. Maria Sunér Fleming Ms. Maria Sunér Fleming is the Director for Swedish and European energy and climate policies at the Confederation of Swedish Enterprise as well as a member of the studies committee at the World Energy Council. Her former positions include Head of Unit and Senior Advisor for Environmental and Climate Policies at Swedenenergy, Environmental Controller/Manager for E.ON Sweden and Energy

Expert at the World Bank.

Ms. Cecilie Tenfjord-Toftby Ms. Cecilie Tenfjord-Toftby has been member of the since 2008. In September 2012, she became the Chairman of the Business and Industry Committee. She had previously been the Vice-Chairman of the Environment and Natural Resources Committee. She is spokeswoman for energy policy at the Moderate party.

Mr. Janne Wallenius, Moderator Mr. Janne Wallenius is Professor and Head of the reactor physics division at KTH. His research areas include transmutation of nuclear waste, design and safety analysis of Generation IV reactors, advanced nuclear fuel development and radiation damage physics. He holds a PhD degree in Quantum Chemistry from Uppsala University.

Mr. Ola Alterå, Moderator Mr. Ola Alterå is Senior Advisor to the think tank Global Utmaning. He served as State Secretary for Energy at the Swedish Ministry of Enterprise, Energy and Communications and as a representative for Kenya, Eritrea and South Sudan at the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO). Being an active member of the Swedish Centerpartiet, Mr. Alterå is experienced and known in the political sphere of environmental issues.

Mr. Erik Brandsma Mr. Erik Brandsma is General Director at the Swedish Energy Agency Energimyndigheten, ranked as most powerful in Energy in Sweden 2013 by the Swedish magazines, New Technology (Ny Teknik) and Business World (Affärsvärlden). He worked previously with E.ON and Vattenfall, where he was responsible for corporate sustainability and social responsibility (CSR). Born in the Netherlands, Erik Brandsma has been educated as a forest engineer.

Mr. Rémi Chabrillat Mr. Rémi Chabrillat is the Director of sustainable production and energies at the French Environment and Energy Management Agency ADEME, which is under the joint authority of the Ministry for Ecology, Sustainable Development and Energy and the Ministry for Higher Education and Research. The ADEME encourages, supervises, coordinates, facilitates and undertakes operations with the aim of

protecting the environment and managing energy.

Mr. Sébastien Hita-Perona Mr. Hita-Perona is Vice-President of Marketing, Product & Business Development at AREVA Renewables, being responsible for leading globally the Marketing strategy of AREVA Renewables, the management of product lines and the business development. He is also the company’s representative for Marine Energies in France. Holding a MSc in Mechanical Engineering, he has worked in the energy

sector for companies such as General Electric, GDF Suez and Veolia Environment. Mr. Nils Lannefors Country Manager of Alstom Sweden and also regional sales director for Nordic & Baltic for Alstom Power Sectors, Nils Lannefors has been working for this world- leading supplier of products and services for power generation for about 20 years. Nils Lannefors is experienced in most of Alstom Energy’s business fields. He graduated from Lund University’s Faculty of Engineering.

Mr. Diego Pavía Mr. Diego Pavía is CEO of InnoEnergy, which is a Knowledge and Innovation Community that focuses on sustainable energies. Before leading this world-class alliance of European companies, research institutes and universities, Mr. Pavía had management positions in industry for many years. He studied electrical engineering and specialized in electronics and automation at the Polytechnic University of Madrid.

Workshop 4: 13:15 – 14:30 Interconnections: Towards a single European market and Supergrids?

Mr. Mats Gustavsson Mr. Gustavsson is General director of Industrikraft I Sverige AB. This consortium was founded in 2008 and is engaged in new nuclear production in Sweden. Industrikraft also owns a company for renewable energy: VindIn AB. Industrikraft is owned equally by the Energy intensive industries: Boliden, Holmen, Stora Enso, and SCA. Besides, Mr. Gustavsson is Energy Director at Boliden AB.

Mr. Kenneth Johansson, Moderator In 2011, Mr. Kenneth Johansson became CEO of KIC InnoEnergy Sweden, the regional branch of the European company which is fostering the integration of education, technology, business and entrepreneurship aiming towards becoming the leading engine of innovation in the field of sustainable energy. Mr. Kenneth Johansson has more than 25 active years in high tech manufacturing industry areas such as telecom, power conversion and renewable energies, he has held various

executive management positions in listed SMEs as well as corporate organizations

Mr. Dominique Maillard Since 2007, Mr. Dominique Maillard is the President of RTE, the French electricity transmission system operator. He graduated as an engineer from the French Corps des Mines and his work has ever since evolved around energy related issue areas. Accordingly, he assumed several high-ranking positions e.g. at the French railway company SNCF or at the International Energy Agency.

Mr. Mikael Odenberg Mr. Mikael Odenberg became President and CEO of the electricity transmission system operator Svenska Kraftnät in 2008. Thus, he served as Member of Parliament for the Moderate Party and as Swedish Minister for Defence. He studied Economics in Stockholm and holds the military rank of Major. Thanks to his political activities, he is an expert of the Swedish industrial and political aspects of

the energy market.

Mr. Pierre Schellekens Since 2009, Mr. Pierre Schellekens is the Head of the European Commission’s Representation in Sweden. He studied Political Science and European Studies at Gothenburg University as well as at the renowned College of Europe. Pierre Schellekens joined the European Commission in 1996 and has most recently been working in DG Maritime Affairs, as Head of Unit for Maritime Policy in the Baltic and North Sea. Prior to this, Mr. Schellekens was the deputy Head of Cabinet of the Commissioner for Environment Stavros Dimas from 2004 to 2008.

Mr. Mattias Fredriksson

Mr. Fredriksson is responsible for business development activities in Schneider Electric Sweden. He has been with Schneider Electric since 2000 and he was one of the persons introducing Energy Performing Contracts at the Danish Market together with Schneider Electric as an ESCO (Energy Service Company). Furthermore, he is a Board’s member of the Sustainable Business Hub, an organization aiming at helping companies whose products or services have a particularly high environmental profile.

Ms. Ulla Hamilton Ulla Hamilton is Vice-Mayor of Stockholm, in charge of Enterprise, Traffic and Labour Market. She has been a member of the Stockholm City Council since 1995 and has been a member of the Council of Mayors since 2006. Previously, she worked as a political expert at the then Prime Minister ’s chancellery and had been a consultant in PR and PA. Before becoming Vice-Mayor, she was

Communication Manager at the Confederation of Swedish Enterprise.

Ms. Ghislaine Senée Ms. Senée is the President of the Commission for transport supply at the STIF, which is the Transport Authority of Paris. As an elected member of the regional council for Ile-de-France region, which includes Paris, she has been involved in issues related to transportation, environment and urban planning. She is a member of the French Green Party.

Ms. Elin Søndergård Elin Søndergård is the Head of Research and Development for the Nordic and Baltic countries in the French multinational corporation Saint-Gobain. She is working on material properties in order to face current challenges in the field of human habitat and construction materials. She holds a PhD in physics and has published numerous articles in refereed scientific journals.
