Fayetteville High School is a comprehensive four-year public high school located in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Student enrollment for grades 9 through 12 is approximately 2652. The school year is comprised of two 18-week semesters. The academic program is organized on an A/B block schedule Monday through Thursday where students are enrolled in four courses each day and Fridays are composed of all eight courses. Eight credits per year is the maximum course load. Students attend four 90-minute classes on A day and four 90-minute classes on B day in addition to a 35 minute advisory. The student body is culturally diverse with a population that is 3.60% Asian, 9% Black, 1% Pacific Islander, 12% Hispanic, .5% Native American, 67.1% White and 6.8% who identify with more than one race. Fayetteville is located in extreme Northwest Arkansas and has a population of approximately 75,000. Fayetteville is home to the main campus of the University of Arkansas. The Northwest Arkansas area is home to the world headquarters of Wal-Mart, Tyson Foods, as well as JB Hunt Transport.
