DISCLAIMER . Library hours are not required; this is just another resource for your chapter to utilize to promote the academic success of your members if you choose. . Library hours do not take into consideration hours of study spent elsewhere. . The library log is not a competition amongst chapters; it is a tool to promote academic success within chapters. If it is deemed that individuals are misusing the library log system, those hours will not count toward their chapter's monthly total.
HOW TO USE THE LIBRARY LOG SYSTEM . Your members can use the electronic library log program by swiping in and out of the designated computer in the library. . Please make sure your ICS roster is updated so the correct members have access to this program (www.indstate.edu/greeklife/ics.html). Let me know if you need your ICS username and password again.
WHO RECEIVES LIBRARY LOG REPORTS AND WHEN . The Chapter President, Vice President, Scholarship Chair, New Member Educator, Primary Chapter Advisor, Scholarship Advisor (if applicable), New Member Advisor (if applicable), Chapter Development/Programming/Education Advisor (if applicable), Resident Advisor/House Director (if applicable), and Faculty/Staff Advisor (if applicable) will be sent weekly updates. . Email [email protected] if you would like to add anyone to your chapter's library log distribution list. . The monthly report and awards will be given at Tri-Council and posted on the "Fraternity & Sorority Life at Indiana State University" Facebook fan page once a month.
MONTHLY AWARDS Two types of awards are given out monthly at Tri-Council: 1. Awards for chapters with highest average hours per member in each council (IFC, NPHC, PA) Rationale: We want to encourage many of your chapter members to utilize the library, even if it's for just a little bit. We don't want to reward a chapter for having the most hours because it may be just one or two people logging all the hours. 2. Individuals with 20 or more monthly library hours Rationale: As opposed to rewarding just the top three individuals, we have set a fair standard (20 hours per month) which we encourage individuals to strive for. For this reason, some months only 3 individuals might be recognized - the next month, 20 individuals might be recognized.
