REDDITCH RUGBY CLUB

50th Anniversary Rugby Design Competition

Redditch Rugby Club celebrates its 50th Anniversary since its re-formation after the 2nd World War, on the first Saturday of September 2016. To celebrate this major event and to tie in with the World Cup we will be running a Playing Shirt design competition during the period of the World Cup from 18th September through to the 30th October. We are looking for local Schools and the College to compete for the best design. We are hoping to engage with the local schools so we can get as many pupils involved designing our new playing . The shirts will be worn throughout next season by each team, starting with our 50th Anniversary game on the 30th April 2016. We are splitting the competition into two different age groups, Group one will be open for pupils from Year 4 to Year 8 and they will be given the opportunity to create two separate designs for our Development and Exiles teams giving the pupils two chances of winning. Group two will be from Year 9 through to the HOW College students and they will be designing our First team shirt. Winners will be receiving framed copies of their designs, as well as a shirt to wear in their size. Extra prizes include signed rugby balls, Badger rugby prizes, Worcester Warrior prizes, as well as a special guest invitation to our Anniversary game.

Design Brief

We want as many designs as possible in any pattern but we do have some restrictions due to RFU regulations.

Group one: - Year 4 to Year 8 These pupils will be designing 2 shirts for both our Development and Exiles teams. For the Development team shirt we wanted to roll back the years and go back to our first playing kit of black and white, but don’t be afraid to add other colours. For the Exiles team shirt we like anything that is pink! But other colours would be nice.

Group two: - Year 9 through to College students These pupils & students will be designing our First team shirt We can only use Sky Blue and Royal Blue due to RFU restrictions.

How To Enter

We will supply all of the schools and Colleges with a template which can be used to design a shirt on the computer or can be printed and photocopied onto A3 paper to hand draw your design. (Don't forget to design the front and the back) Each entry will need to write their full name, School name & Age on their template in the space provided. The closing date for entries is 30th October 2015, we aim to collect all entries week commencing 2nd November 2015
