The newspaper consists of 5 to 6 sections a day with the financial pages branded DNA Money printed on salmon pink newsprint also being sold as a stand alone financial newspaper. The newspaper went live from the day of launch on NewsWrap™, CIO|365™: Media (All modules), Layout-X™ and eDaily™. The implementation was completed in 4 months. • Bhaskar Group is India’s largest newspaper group. The group publishes Dainik Bhaskar, a leading Hindi daily of India and Divya Bhaskar, Gujarati language frontrunner. NewsWrap™ - Editorial System

NewsWrap™ is an Integrated Editorial Management System (IEMS) for print media.

4Cplus started development of the product in 2000, and NewsWrap™ was launched at Ifra Publish Asia 2002, Bangkok. Today NewsWrap™ is the largest selling editorial system in India. It has been implemented at 29 newspapers and has over 5,000 editorial users across 100+ printing centers spread all over India, Nepal, Dubai, Doha and Mauritius.

The second version of NewsWrap™ launched in 2006 is browser based making NewsWrap™ the only multilingual web based editorial system for print media.

CIO|365™: Media Your Chief Information Officer, 365 days a year

CIO365™ delivers fast, reliable and accurate MIS round the clock. It enables transactions for all business areas and seamlessly integrates all the departments like advertisement, distribution, accounts receivable/ credit control, accounts, finance, fixed assets, human resources management system, payroll, materials management (stores), and logistics.

The Advertisement modules consist of advertisement booking, billing and scheduling. There is a powerful accounts receivable package that is tightly integrated with the booking engine to control credit and accounts receivables. There is also an Internet transaction and booking server that allows Publishers to extend the booking system to key advertising agencies, franchisees, major advertisers and even classified advertisers over the Internet.

The press analysis module for business analytics allows publishers to track ad spends and volumes in competitive publications. The system also generates alerts for missed ads or campaigns that are forwarded automatically to the space marketers. Reports with graphs can be generated on multiple parameters like category, ad tyoe, segment or sector, region, team, etc.

The distribution system consists of circulation management for trade & institutional sales and subscription module for direct sales. The customer relationship management module allows Publishers to service readers.

The financial accounting and fixed assets management modules help track income and expenditure by printing unit or company. Combined statements are also available. The system also tracks actual expenditures against budgeted figures and raises alerts for deviations. An extensive workflow based on rights ensures that all monies are tracked.

The materials management is divided into two sub modules – one for general stores and the second for newsprint inventory management.

The payroll and human resource management system allows HR managers to hire, retain and nurture talent. The payroll system is capable of handling ‘wage board’ recommendations.

Layout-X™ – Page Planning System for Newspapers

Layout – X™ is the Page Planning system used by newspapers to place advertisements in newspaper page templates. Layout – X™ does the page planning of advertisements to be carried in a publication and creates advertisement ‘dummies’ for newspapers on the fly.

All premium/ guaranteed; ordinary ads and color; black & white ads are automatically placed. System has checks to prevent ads of competitors, same companies going on same page.

If required, all advertisements of a product category can be placed on one page for advertisement supplements (ex. Real estate ads for a special feature on Realty)

Layout-X™ also has an administrative interface to drag and drop ads for final manual modifications that may be required to be carried out manually. The pages produced in Layout-X™ are transferred to Quark XPress or Adobe InDesign/ CS templates which are then made available to the editorial.

Layout-X™ is integrated with the CIO|365™ advertisement booking and scheduling system or any third party booking system ex. SAP IS/ Media.

Font Typeface Design & Software for DTP in Asian Scripts

4Cplus has developed a solution to facilitate typing in Indian languages. The software comes with a large number of font type face families and supports multiple keyboards.
