    NEWSLETTER TRISTAN GOMMENDY #1 EN PISTE POUR UNE TOURNEE MONDIALE Tristan Gommendy participera en 2017 au Championnat du Monde d'Endurance (WEC) au sein de l'écurie Jackie Chan DC Racing (co-propriété du célèbre acteur chinois de films d'action et de kung-fu) engagée dans la catégorie LM P2. Après quatre brillantes saisons en European Le Mans Series (ELMS), le pilote francilien accède au pinacle des courses d'endurance. Il disputera les neuf manches du calendrier mondial, dont les 24 Heures du Mans comme point d'orgue. Jackie Chan DC Racing a décidé de s'allier aux britanniques de Jota Sport (écurie championne d’Europe en titre et victorieuse des 24 Heures du Mans en 2014) pour aligner deux Oreca 07, respectivement confiées aux deux pilotes Platinium, Tristan Gommendy et Oliver Jarvis (2nd du WEC 2016 avec Audi Sport Team Joest). Le Français partagera l'Oreca n°37 avec l'Anglais Alex Brundle et le Chinois David Cheng. Au volant de l'Oreca n°38, Oliver fera équipe avec le Français Thomas Laurent et le Sino-Néerlandais Ho-Pin Tung. Tristan Gommendy : « Il s'agit incontestablement de l'une des compétitions internationales du sport automobile les plus relevées » « Je suis ravi et enthousiaste de rejoindre l'écurie Jackie Chan DC Racing pour disputer le WEC. SAVE THE DATE The official opening of the new Grand Prix circuit, including a ceremony will take place up at the ‘arrowhead’, on the morning of 29 April. All BRDC Members are invited to attend, so please make a note of the date and full details will be sent in a separate invitation when all elements of the planning have been finalised. BRDC CHARITY LUNCH – FRIDAY 23 APRIL 2010 BRDC Members, Andy Priaulx, Oliver Gavin, Darren Turner, Jonny Kane, Johnny Mowlem, Guy Smith, Charlie Hollings, Rob Barff, Sean Edwards, Richard Westbrook, Peter Dumbreck, Marino Franchitti, Stuart Hall, Marc Hynes & BRDC Club Secretary, Stuart Pringle will be running the Virgin London Marathon in less than 4 weeks in support of CLIC Sargent, the children’s cancer and leukaemia charity. A Charity Lunch is taking place on Friday 23 April at Plaisterers’ Hall, London to help raise funds towards the £50,000 which the runners have pledged to raise. BBC’s F1 presenter Jake Humphrey has very kindly agreed to compare the afternoon and interview some stunning motor sport guests, the vast majority of whom are Members have generously given their time and support of the charity. Here's why it could be significant It's the golden rule of endurance racing: spend as little time in the pits as possible. A driver can pound around chasing tenths of a second to set a perfect lap, but if they get it wrong and damage the car, sitting stationary in the garage undoes any potential gains. It seems odd, then, that within motorsport driver conditioning is arguably the most neglected area of research. Manufacturers painstakingly develop their cars, but that is to embark on a path of diminishing returns if the driver climbs aboard for their third stint and is too tired to perform at their best. The much less expensive route is to focus on the person behind the wheel and ensure they can operate at their peak for much longer - make them consistently faster and less error prone. It's a low-hanging fruit within racing that is yet to be picked. That's why the former senior performance coach at world-renowned Hintsa Performance, Dean Fouache, had his interests piqued by the temperature regulating properties of Walero racewear. For three and a half years Fouache specialised in human performance coaching at Hintsa, which has a client list including Lewis Hamilton, Sebastian Vettel and Daniel Ricciardo.
