Brus sels and Montreal; and bids them God-speed, with the assurance of our constant sympathies and fervent prayers for their prosperity and success. 2. That in view of the manifest tokens of the Divine blessing on the efforts of our Evangelical Protestant brethren in the Roman Catholic countries of Europe, and the French portions of Canada, during the past year, this Society has in creased encouragement to aid them in distributing the Word of Life and evan gelical truth in those benighted lands, confident that the day of the Gospel’s triumph over the “ Man of Sin ” and infidelity in nominal Christendom, draweth nigh. The Rev. Dr. A d a m s , of New-York, seconded these resolutions. Addresses were delivered by the Rev. Dr. B a c o n , the Rev. Mr. K i r k , and the Rev. Dr. A d a m s . The Benediction was pronounced by the Rev. R e u b e n S m i t h , of Waterford, N. Y. The Members of the Society then met, at the in vitation of the President, and proceeded to the elec tion of Directors. After their election, the Directors proceeded to the election of the Executive Commit tee and the Officers of the Society. The Society, at this meeting, besides making one or two verbal alterations in the Constitution, enlarged the Executive Committee, making it to consist henceforth of nine members, instead of seven; and also enlarged the Board, making it consist of thirty-six, instead of thirty members. Barenaked Ladies' The Yellow Tape goes platinum in Canada. It is the first indie release in Canada to ever do this. Sales are partly fueled by controversy regarding Toronto mayor June Rowlands banning the group from playing a show at Nathan Phillips Square in Toronto because she thought the name "Barenaked Ladies" objectified women. Alternative rock fully breaks into the American mainstream consciousness, as albums and singles by bands such as Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Alice in Chains, Toad the Wet Sprocket, R.E.M., Soul Asylum, The Cure, and Nine Inch Nails reach the Top 40 of the Billboard charts. The Smashing Pumpkins announce their breakup, indicating that "Machina" was intended as their final album during production, and play a farewell concert on December 2. They release Machina II/The Friends & Enemies of Modern Music for free to music downloaders on the internet after feuds between Billy Corgan and Virgin Music emerged. The surviving members of Alice in Chains reform to play their first concert in nine years at a Tsunami benefit concert with former Damageplan vocalist Pat Lachman. The band launches a world tour with William Duvall taking the vocal spot, while many guests vocalists perform at various shows, including Maynard James Keenan, Billy Corgan and Phil Anselmo. Alecia Beth Moore (born September 8, 1979[4]), better known by her stage name Pink (stylized as P!nk), is an American singer-songwriter and actress.

The capital and largest city in the Pivo Denik . .12-16 Czech Republic, and the historical capital of Bohemia, is situated on the Vltava River and its main attractions include the Charles Bridge, Prague Castle and Old Town Square with the astronomical clock. The XVI All Sokol Slet was held the week of July 1-6, 2018. Sokols from around the globe gathered to participate in the parade, Slet program, spectate, and soak in Czech education and culture. Sokol Tabor had a contingent of members travel abroad to take part in the festivities. Ranging from Tots to Seniors, everyone thoroughly enjoyed their trip overseas. We had members participate in the Slet Parade, the American Sokol “Sokol Yeah” stage performance, the senior calisthenics “Princezna Republika” (Princess Republic) and the men’s calisthenics “Borci” (Athletes). We thank the Capodice, Carlozzi, Fron, LoGuidice, Mangia, Polashek, Pros, Svestka and Walinski families for proudly representing Sokol Tabor across the pond! Let’s give them three cheers and a NAZDAR! Editor: Christina Curran Thank you to everyone who submitted articles, quotes and photos to make this Prague Slet edition so special!
