Carole Liedtke Brevet Judge and Contributor Inducted 2020 Carole Liedtke Class of 2020 Carole Liedtke has been involved in the sport of gymnastics since 1960, beginning as an athlete. She is still involved in the sport as a judge and volunteer. Carole has organized numerous study groups in preparation for judging exams. She has also volunteered to organize, coach and speak at a variety of clinics and camps throughout Kentucky and Region 5. As an athlete Carole competed locally, regionally, and nationally through the Turners, YMCA, AAU and USGF. She also competed at the collegiate level before moving into coaching. As a high school coach, Carole won three State Championships in Kentucky and as a coach at the University of Louisville her teams won six Regional Championships and went to the AIAW Nationals six years. Additionally, Carole owned and coached her own gymnastics school “Barnastics” for 10 years. Carole began judging in 1965 and currently holds a USA Brevet rating. She held a FIG rating from 1972 to 2006 allowing her to judge in many countries. She joined the NAWGJ in 1974, served as the State Director from 1985 to 1995, served as the Regional Director from 1995 to 2007 and is a current member of the NAWGJ Kentucky Administrative Board.
