Similar sentiments apply to Addeybb, who enjoyed a fruitful spell in Australia under Tom Marquand during the spring but faces tougher opposition now back on home soil. Barney Roy has won Group 2 and Group 1 contests in Dubai this year but probably needs a career-best performance to take this, so the vote instead goes to Arc fourth JAPAN. A winner of the Juddmonte International at York before that, Aidan O'Brien's 122-rated performer has a class edge over this field and already has some solid course form in the book, having landed the King Edward VII easily at this meeting 12 months ago. Fox Premier is probably fairly handicapped off 97 but might want further than this, so instead the vote goes to recent Newmarket scorer BELL ROCK for the in-form Andrew Balding/Oisin Murphy combination. The four-year-old was deemed good enough to run in Group 1 company on just his third career start last season and appears to have improved for a gelding operation prior to his recent HQ success. A 5lb penalty might not be enough to stop him following up and his sire, Kingman, is thus taken to claim yet another high profile winner. • Harry Angel Flying High Among Star Cast for Sprint
A dazzling cast is set to line up for the seventh QIPCO British Champions Day at Ascot on 21st October after the latest forfeit stage. Britain’s richest raceday, with £4.3 million of prize money on offer, remains the target for 35 Group 1 winners who between them have won 67 races at the highest level. They include headline acts such as Ribchester, Cracksman, Harry Angel, Order of St George, Churchill, The Tin Man, Barney Roy and Big Orange. Others still in the mix for the spectacular finale, which features four Group 1 races, a Group 2 and the richest mile handicap in Europe, are Caravaggio, Winter and Beat The Bank. HARRY ANGEL FLYING HIGH AMONG STAR CAST FOR SPRINT QIPCO British Champions Sprint Stakes (£600,000) Group 1 (Please quote the QIPCO British Champions Series if using any quotes) Harry Angel, currently rated the best sprinter in the world on official ratings, heads a superb cast of 25 still in the mix for the QIPCO British Champions Sprint Stakes. Four other speedsters with Group 1 wins to their name – Caravaggio, The Tin Man (winner of the race last year), Quiet Reflection and Limato – are also still engaged. Clive Cox is delighted with the well-being of Harry Angel who is no bigger than 6-4 in the ante-post betting to extend his winning sequence on QIPCO British Champions Day having landed the Darley July Cup at Newmarket before following up with a stunning four-length success in the 32Red Sprint Cup at Haydock last time. “He’s come out of the Haydock race absolutely super and I’m very pleased with him,” Cox said.

  • Lord North Pounces in Prince of Wales=S S
THURSDAY, 18 JUNE 2020 LORD NORTH POUNCES IN RUSSIAN EMPEROR SWOOPS IN THE HAMPTON COURT PRINCE OF WALES=S S. Bouncing out of Leopardstown=s G3 Derrinstown Stud Derby Trial, Ballydoyle=s Russian Emperor (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}) demonstrated the buoyant health of his stable by landing a strong renewal of the G3 Hampton Court S. on Wednesday. Second eight days ago racing against the bias at that Foxrock venue, Laurie Macri and Coolmore=s 10-3 second favourite was delivered from rear by Ryan Moore with a surge to overwhelm the 9-4 favourite First Receiver (GB) (New Approach {Ire}) in the final yards. With full momentum as he crossed the line, the son of the triple Group 1 heroine Atlantic Jewel (Aus) (Fastnet Rock {Aus}) forged a half-length success over The Queen=s representative, with 1 1/4 lengths back to Berlin Tango (GB) (Dansili {GB}) who was excelling under a four-pound penalty. AHe is a lovely horse that is straightforward and has a great Lord North | Racing Post attitude,@ commented Ryan Moore after steering a landmark 60th Royal winner. AHe was very professional--he has had the With Enable (GB) (Nathaniel {Ire}) in her box at Clarehaven, benefit of a couple of runs this year and let=s see if he will keep John Gosden could have been forgiven for giving up on the 2020 progressing. He has a very good pedigree--his dam was G1 Prince of Wales=s S. but instead he unleashed a secret exceptional in Australia. I think he will be a nice horse going weapon in the hugely-progressive Lord North (Ire) (Dubawi forward for the rest of the year.@ Cont.
