Promote professional, social, cultural welcome contributions big or small, this and charitable activities. 1 THE 19TH ASIA WORKFORCE FORUM (AWWF) AND 15TH ALLIANCE OF ASIAN NURSES’ ASSOCIATIONS (AANA) MEETING The 19th Asia Workforce Forum (AWFF) held on 15– 16 November 2018 followed by the 15th Alliance of Asian Nurses’ Associations (AANA) meeting on the 17 November 2018. Both meetings held at the College of Nursing Hong Kong (CNHK) and hosted by College of Nursing Hong Kong (CNHK) Hong Kong. The two-day forum was officiated and conducted by Mr Howard Catton, Director of Nursing and Health Policy, International Council of Nurses (ICN) and Ms Ellen Ku President College of Nursing Hong Kong (CNHK). Deputy President College of Nursing Hong Kong, Ms Stephanie Chui chaired the 15th AANA meeting. The National Nurses Association (NNA) members from Malaysia, China, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Macau, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand attended the meeting. The Malaysian Nurses Association (MNA) was represented by President, Ms Sharipah Asiah Syed Junid Al-Junid, Deputy President Ms Asiah Bt Supaat, Ms Hee Kim Lan Melaka Branch Chairman and Ms Vimala Penang Branch Chairman. The meeting focused on nursing issues, sustainable development goals, factors required for the successful implementation of Universal Health Coverage (UHC), the importance of primary health care services especially for the women and child health, prevention and management of NCD and infectious disease and the Nursing Workforce and Legal Protection of Nursing Practices. At the end of the forum, the delegates agreed that the Korean Nurses Association will host the 20th Asia Workforce Forum (AWFF) and 16th Alliance Of Asian Nurses’ Associations (AANA) meeting in Republic of Korea tentatively on 21– 23 of November 2019. Participants of the meeting Mr Howard Catton and Ms Ellen Ku President College of Nursing Puan Sharipah Asiah Syed Junid Al-Junid, MNA President Hong Kong presented the certificates of attendances to all presenting a token of appreciation to the President Of College delegates Of Nursing Hong Kong Ms Ellen Ku. 2 STUDENT LEADERSHIP SEMINAR - “PROFESSIONAL EFFECTIVENESS & CRITICAL THINKING” MNA successfully organized a student Leadership seminar with the theme “Professional Effectiveness & Critical Thinking on 22 October 2018 at Training Institute of Ministry of Health Penang (formerly called as Penang Nursing College). The seminar was for nursing students of year three (Diploma in Nursing) from both public and private nursing colleges at Penang. The purpose of the seminar was to help students learn to coordinate their thinking skills with enhancing their professional growth. It is a one-day seminar attended by 127 participants from Training Institute Ministry of Health Penang, Lam Wa Ee Nursing College, Adventist College of Nursing And Health Sciences. Deputy President Ms Asiah Supaat gave a brief welcoming speech. Participants were briefed on Malaysian Nurses Association by Madam Sharipah Asiah Syed Junid Al Junid followed by Mr Haw Ai Beng on Personal & Professional Effectiveness and Critical Thinking in Practice. The seminar session went on very well. It was actively participated by the audience. Both the speakers established a good rapport with participants and made the students to feel ease and comfortable during the seminar. Prior to end of the seminar “Nursing Now” was also highlighted to participants.This seminar is also a part of the Nursing Now programme. The report and photos will be submitted to Nursing Now Committee for publication in the Nursing Now website. Held at the Dewan Pavillion LPPKN Seremban 2. More than 210 participants attended the programme. Among the participants were nurses from public and private hospitals and clinics and dental clinics. Community representative, public servants from the Police, Immigration, Custom Departments and LPPKN staffs also attended the programme. Chairman of MNA Negeri Sembilan, Datin Hjh Radziah Hj Idris, gave a brief introduction about MNA. The programme was full with exciting activities. Learning session such as Pocket Talk on the advantage of HPV injections and the prevention of cervical cancer, awareness and on-the-spot test for Pap smear were carried out.
