DETECTION OF STOLEN VEHICLES

In Thoothukudi district, a case was registered in Thoothukudi Central PS Cr.No. 326/2019 u/s 379 IPC on 07. 08. 2019 at 0800 hrs based on the complainant of Tr. Muniasamy, who lost his two-wheeler TVS XL bearing registration number TN69AH9288. In the meantime, Tr. Both the juveniles were produced before , Thoothukudi for further action. 2. Stolen vehicle traced in a Petrol bunk :

On 5.08.2019, one unknown person came on a Hero Passion motorcycle Reg No. TN75AB6789 and filled petrol in a bunk in in District. But, he didn’t have money, so he parked the vehicle at the petrol bunk and left saying he will be back with money. When he did not return, Tmt. the ow Rusildhasner of SSI, the petrolPolice Databunk Entryinforme Operatord the incident of Kulasekaram to KulasekaramPS PS. went to the petrol bunk and checked the vehicle details through CCTNS Mobile App and found that the vehicle was reported to be stolen on 28.07.2019 in PS limits (Case registered in Cr. No 255/2019 u/s 379 IPC). 3.InformationStolen vehicle was passed traced on to us Thiruingvattar CCTNS PS portal:for further action.

During night rounds on 03.08.2019, Tr. Kannan, Inspector of Police , and Tr. Vijay Gr I 2099 of Samayanallur PS, Madurai District, found one abandoned bike YAMAHA Tr.R15 Ramakrishanan,Reg. No TN 07 CE GrI1942 2120near, KattupuliPolice Data nagar. Entry & tookOperator it to theof PoliceSamayanallurStation. PS, checked through CCTNS Portal Cr.and No. found that the vehicle was a stolen vehicle in Madurai. city, Anna Nagar PS 687/19 u/s 379 IPC registered on 23.07.2019 Instantly the information regarding the vehicle was conveyed to Madurai city, Anna Nagar PS. The vehicle was handed over to the complainant, Tr. Muthurasu (a Doctor in Madurai GH) S/o Santhanam of Theni district.

Using CCTNS data, 12 stolen vehicles were traced during the fortnight.

ANTECEDENT VERIFICATION 4. Notorious past of an extortion accused revealed by CCTNS:

On 05.08.2019, on complaint of attempt to commit extortion from Tr. Murugesh S/o Sundaram of Gobichettipalayam, Erode district, a case was registered & the accused Maheswaran S/oTmt. Selvaraj Periyanayakiammalwas securedWHC by Tr.Pa3421nnerselvam,Police Data SI Entry of Gobichettypalayam Operator, Gobichettipalayam PS. Police station , checked the antecedent of the accused through CCTNS Portal and found that the accused had involved in Murder, Robbery and Dacoity cases and had an NBW pending against him in Malayampalayam PS (Erode district) Cr.No 25/2006 u/s 392, 399 IPC. 5. Involvement in 11 theft cases known by click of a button!

One Ajith @ Ajith Kumar, S/o Chellapandi of Madurai district had applied for Badge verification.Tmt. Lalitha, ApplicationWGrI 991 was Police sent to Data Vadipatti Entry Operator PS for verificationof Vadipatti on 13.08.2019.Police station checked through CCTNS portal and found that the applicant Ajith @ Ajith Kumar was involved in 11 theft cases

PASSPORT VERIFICATION 6. Robber applies for Passport!

On 05.08.2019, checked on CCTNS the antecedent of one applicant Manikandan, s/o Pandiyan from Thiruthuraipoondi (TK), Thiruvarur district who applied for Passport verification and found that the applicant was involved in 2 attempt to Murder cases in Muthupet PS limit in Thiruvarur district. During the fortnight, 28,954 applications were received. Using CCTNS, Total cases 122 applicants were 122 found to have criminal cases against them. Hurt 45 RTA Others 08 69

4. ONLINE POLICE VERIFICATION:

A self-verification application was received by Courtallam Police station from one Rajesh, S/o Muniyasamy of TirunelveliTmt. District. Sermakani The antecedent, WHC 2150, of Policethe applicant Data Entry was verifiedOperator, byCourtallam Police station on CCTNS portal and found that he is involved in a child rape case in AWPS Tenkasi Cr.No. 31/15 u/s 6 - POCSO ACT. Total During the fortnight, Others 104 6863 requests were 47 received online and 104 persons on whom RTA 09 Hurt 40 Verification was requested were found

5. Missing person case pending for over a year & a half traced using CCTNS:

A case of unidentified dead body was reported in Tiruvannamalai district on 19.3.2018 & a case was registered in Vandavasi South PS Cr.No. 140/2018 Tmt.u/s 174 SaraswathiCr.P.C. Due, SI to of lack Police of clues,, SCRB casedetachment was disposed as undetected. However, , used the missing person search tool available on CCTNS Officers’ portal and found the identity of the deceased on 09.08.2019 to be one Nazar, aged 65, S/o Devadass belonging to Thiruvarambu in Kanyakumari district, who went missing from his home on 10.03.2018 (case registered in Kanyakumari district, Thiruvattar PS Cr.No. 72/2018 u/s Man Missing). Because identity of the deceasedThus awas missing established,person it helpedcase pending the investigating for over 1yearofficer 5inmonths detecting was the detectedcase. with help of CCTNS data. In a similar manner, 2 Missing person cases were detected by matching with Un Identified dead bodies during this fortnight. So far, 707 cases of Missing Persons have been traced using CCTNS.

FINGERPRINT BUREAU

During the 1st fortnight of August 2019, personnel of Finger Print Bureau across the State helped in detection of 15 property offence cases by verifying the chance prints developed from the Scenes of Crime. Out of those 15 cases, 2 cases were identified through FACTS (Finger Print Analysis and Criminal Tracing System) and 13 cases were identified by manual verification.

Brief of one such case is given below: FACTS helps in apprehending accused involved in more than 15 property offence cases:

In Chennai City, 4 house breaking cases were reported in Pattabiram PS limits on 15.03.2019 in Cr. Nos. 187/19 u/s 457, 380 IPC, 188/19 u/s 457, 380 IPC, 436/19Tr. u/sV. Panchatcharam, 457, 380 IPC onDSP 06.06.19(FP), Unit and 445/191 of Chennai u/s 457, City 380 IPC on 08.06.19. visited the scenes of crime and lifted chance prints. On 01.08.2019, DSP FP on suspicion verified the chance prints concerned in the above cases manually with the finger prints of one Kumar @ Kulla Kumar, S/o Chinnathambi, of Gingee Taluk, Villupuram District from the daily arrest slip sent at the time of arrest of the said accused. It was found that the chance prints concerned in all the above 4 cases got matched with that of the accused Kumar@ KullaKumar S/o Chinnathambi.

The accused was arrested in the following Robbery and house breaking cases: Thirunindravur PS Cr. No. 279/2019 u/s 341, 294(b), 336, 427, 392, 397, 506(ii) IPC in Chennai City.

1. Pattabiram PS Cr. No. 187/2019 u/s 457, 380 IPC & recovered Rs. 75,000 cash. 2. Pattabiram PS Cr. No. 188/2019 u/s 457, 380 IPC & recovered 1 Kg Silver.
