Dogzies Dayschool and Boarding Newsletter August 2010 Newsletter August 2010 Dogzies would like to thank all of our loyal customers for their support this summer. This is the first issue of our newsletter. Look for the next issue in September. Dogzies Dayschool and Boarding Do you worry about leaving your dog at home? Dogzies can help you! You can bring your dog to Dogzies dayschool, where your dog will have the opportunity to socialize with other dogs, learn basic behavior skills, and go on walks. During the morning from 9:30- 11:00 your dogs will be trained as a group on basic training such as sit, down, mat, and heel. From 11:00-1:30 is the rest period for the dogs, where they get to relax, watch T.V., eat lunch, and socialize in a positive environment with other dogs. Then from 1:30-4:00 is when the dogs get to enjoy their walks. They will be walked either through the orchard or in the city on a city excursion. While one of the staff members takes the dogs on walks, another does office training with a few of the dogs at a time. This means that the dogs are also learning their basic behvaiour skills both in an inside and outside environment. You can either drop your dog off at the Superstore gasbar, where the Dogzies van will wait from 7:00-8:30 to take you dog to the centre. You can also call to have your dog picked up and brought to Dogzies centre, or you can drop your dog off at the centre yourself from 8:30-1:00. All dogs at the centre for dayschool must be picked up by 5:50. When you send your dog to Dogzies for boarding they will enjoy all of the same luxeries as dayschool dogs. Since I go to my clients home I see family dynamics, dysfunction and children who are out of control, along with their dogs. My business is behavior both human and canine, it is the reason I am successful. Wayne Dorman came to one of our seminars, we spent considerable time together and Jacob his son was often a topic of conversation. Wayne stated on numerous occasions that Jacob was and is his priority. I took him at his word but have worked with many clients where their own interests and ambitions come before their children. I was invited to hold a training seminar in Kelowna at his business Dogzies. Running a dog training, day care and boarding service is labor and time intensive, a perfect scenario where business is the priority. When I was with Wayne he was adjusting his schedule to take care of Jacob’s needs. I found Jacob to be a happy, well behaved and secure little boy. Wayne is a wonderful and committed father and there is no doubt that this child is his priority not only in his words but in his daily actions. I have the utmost respect for Wayne as a trainer but especially as a loving father who puts his son before all else regardless of the cost or inconvenience to himself. If there were more fathers like him it would be a better world. The breed was originally known as the Fox Terrier. The breed was renamed in the late 1800’s for the world renowned hunting enthusiast, Reverend John Russell. Russell was born in 1795 into a devoutly religious family that lived in the countryside of Dartmouth, England. Russell was educated at Blundell’s School and would later attend Oxford University. By 1814 the nineteen year old Russell was associating with the nobles and aristocrats of England.
