Voice of the Beavers, Mike Parker, emceed the event and formally 2018 Baseball National Champions welcomed each individual and each team member into the Hall of Fame. Two-year volleyball team captain, Ali Swofford, surprised the crowd and her teammates with a $16,000 donation toward the Women’s Volleyball program, representing $1,000 for each of her teammates and her head coach, Sally Hunter. Sadly, Coach Hunter, who had been living with a chronic heart condition for a number of years, passed away three weeks after the induction. Her players all agreed it was very fitting that she was honored just days before her unexpected passing.

The Baseball teams packed the event with 40 of 52 former players that played on either or both the 2006 & 07 teams! Coach Pat Casey, who spoke on behalf of the 2006 team, gave the players on both teams all the credit. Team Captain Mitch Canham, who spoke on behalf of the 2007 team, gave Coach Casey, his staff and his teammates the credit for winning these back-to-back national championships. Olympian Dick Fosbury Golden Anniversary Olympic High-jumper Dick Fosbury was also honored that same day with the unveiling of a bronze statue located at the entrance to the , the site of the old Bell Field, where Dick honed his high jumping skills and completely transformed the sport. He was introduced on the field at Reser Stadium for Homecoming the next day on exactly the 50th anniversary of his historic gold medal jump in the Mexico City Olympics on October 20, 1968!

VARSITY OSU ALL�SPORTS REUNION & WALK OF HONOR

Over 200 former OSU student athletes attended this event in the Truax Center and at Goss Stadium prior to the Homecoming game. Shout out to past Varsity OSU President, Mary Law, for coordinating this very well attended reunion. The attendees were then all joined on the field at Reser Stadium by our Hall of Fame inductees for the pre-game Walk of Honor.

FOOTBALL ALUMNI FAN CAVE REUNION Over 150 former OSU football players came back to campus at the invitation and hosting of head coach, Jonathan Smith, for the Oct. 6th OSU vs. Washington State game. Coach Smith thanked all the players for their support for the program through the Football Fund for Excellence. Players and their guests enjoyed the game from the Fritz Family Player’s Lounge on the second floor of the newly remodeled Jose Cortez ‘98, Kenny Taylor ‘84, Randy Holmes ‘83, football center and from one of the skybox suites on the West side. and Jamie Norman ‘86 VARSITY OSU HOME FOOTBALL GAME TAILGATER

A huge thankyou to Beaver Believers Bill Mattecheck and Randy Emerson for hosting this past football season’s Varsity OSU Tailgater, located in the parking lot just south of the Truax indoor center. Shout out to Yvenson Bernard for getting the word out to so many former football players and all OSU student alumni. Hosted meals and beverages were provided and a huge thank you to this past season’s meal sponsors.

We lost long time OSU Registrar, former Beaver football player, assistant football coach, and radio color commentator, Bud Gibbs, on October 20th (ironically on Homecoming). Bud was 90. Bud Gibbs

We also lost long time ticket manager, Elaine Van Vleet, on December 6th. Elaine worked in the Athletics department for over 30 years, 27 as the ticket manager. Her smile, her warmth and wonderful customer service will long be remembered. Elaine Van Vleet
