The Preserve sits at the southern end of the Rocky Mountains. Topography is diverse, consisting of arid foothills, sandstone mesas and steep canyons. Elevations vary from 6,500’ along Galisteo Creek, to almost 7,500’ at the top of Vista Grande and Bishop’s Peaks.

Community volunteers maintain the trails and perform other management activities. This map and information about volunteer Ancestral peoples lived in the area of the opportunities are available at the Eldorado Preserve beginning 12,000 years ago.
