St. Bartholomew’s Church If you look at the listo f vicars in the church, the first one is Richard de Brampton in 1220. For thisreason the church is celebrating its 800th anniversary this year. There was anearlierchurch, probably originally madeofwood, and laterof stone, but nothing remains of this building. During 2020 St Bartholomew’s will be holding a number of celebratory events. One of these willbeon SaturdayJ uly 11th, when there will be a Medieval Fayre. 9 ROYAL AIR FORCE MUSEUM: HENDON TUESDAY 21st APRIL 2020 “A wonderful tripfrom the past through the present…andinto the future”

As we quickly approach our tour date to visit the RAF Museum at Hendon I have very few places left for this fascinating day trip. We will meet at 8am on Tuesday 21st April 2020 at Great Stukeley Village Hall where our coach will depart at 8.15am. On arrivalat 10.30am we will make our way to the entrance at Hangar 1. Morning Refreshments, tea orcoffee and a DanishP astry, ARE includedin our cover charge, will be availablef or my group at Claude’sRestaurant close to Hangar 6.

Afterthis breakwe will bemet at 11.45am by theMuseum’s Professional Guides who will takeus onafascinating two-hour tour of theMuseum. Thursford’s Christmas Spectacular2020 Sunday 15th November 2020 FULL PAYMENTDUE

Yet another frustrating experience forBarrie in Mid December 2019 trying tobuyfifty(50) tickets from Thursford foryour Christmas Spectacular 2020.Wewerelucky inthe end and after 8 hours(!) we were ablet o get seats inthe Deluxe CentreStalls.

Going online at 8.16am and waiting one hour andf ourteenminutes,as number 446, as notickets wereavailablef or sale until 9.30am. Once we got into the line it took another 40minutes to chooseour seats. That’s when thetrouble really started as thecomputer did not accept Barrie’s password and they only accepted sales of 10tickets…and we needed 50! Numerous phone calls andanemail to Thursfordandavisit toourBank resulted.Around 4.16pm we were finally able to register and get the 50 seatsrequired in

13 the Deluxe Stallswith good positioning at the 2pm matineeshow on a Sunday afternoon in November.

This has got tobeour worst ever experience buyingseats from Thursford in the nineteen years that I haveoffered annual Christmasvisits to Norfolk. Itis thanksto Barrie that we are onceagain ablet o attend their Christmas Extravaganza which you all enjoy so much.
