Protection Certification Requirement for and Food Pantries

HPNAP funded Emergency Food Programs must have at least one staff or volunteer certified in food safety. At least one certified worker must be on-site during hours of operation. This includes whenever you are receiving, stocking, preparing, distributing and serving food.  Everyone who attends a class will receive a wallet sized Food Protection Certificate. This Certificate will be valid for 5 years from the class date.  Site monitors will check to make sure a certified worker is on site. o Have everyone keep their card with them - photocopies will not be accepted  Check Training Events (from the FeedNYC drop down ) to find the next class at United Way, For New York City or City Harvest
