Humphrey With the downsizing and closing of several transportation libraries, a TRB study committee was charged to provide strategic advice to the federal government and the states on the core needs for transportation information services and on a sustainable administrative structure and funding mechanism to meet those needs. The recommendations involve the establishment of transportation knowledge networks regionally and at the federal level to link information providers to users.
