I know it's been a while since this series debuted and it's on its 6th or 7th series, but this beginning to it was truly remarkable. The idea of having the Marvel heroes turn to zombies was a good idea but putting an original spin on the `' idea and throwing the story into an alternate universe to make it canon was brilliant. Upon devouring , you learn that the superhero zombie team (which consists of members like Giant-Man, , Spider-Man, , The , and others) are actually decaying and craving flesh but at the same time, trying desperately to find a cure. Sadly, the craving for human remains gets worse and worse and clouds their research so the only way to continue to figure a way to put a stop to all this is to find a host that will give them enough nourishment to keep a stable mind and put off the hunger pains and allow them to think clearly. In walks and the Silver Surfer to devour the planet. So naturally, the zombies want to take the behemoth down as it will surely provide plenty of food but first they must fight another team of super-baddie zombies to take Galactus for themselves! The art is fantastic, yet gruesome, and the character list of appearances is huge! The cover gallery at the end of the TPB was very nice with not only the 5 issue covers but some other zombified alternate covers as well! It was a fantastic read with all the alternate covers at the back of the book as an added bonus and a write-up by the creator of this and The Walking Dead! Definitely recommended!0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Gruesome yet Hilarious: Marvel Zombies = Guilty PleasureBy Kindle CustomerYou can't really read Marvel Zombies and take it seriously--and you shouldn't either. While the artwork is great (the cover parodies are fantastic), the dialog is stupid, and it's all really, really gross (but intriguing). You have to love it for what it is...a totally twisted B-rated parody of the .The characters act completely volatile and self-serving after being zombified, but they are at least true to themselves (ex- Peter Parker is still whiny and ansty, Bruce Banner has issues with being the Hulk, and Wolverine is still quick with the claws and dripping sarcasm). There is also a small story that surrounds survivors which gets continued in more detail in later issues. Overall, it was a fun read, and amusing to see overly "perfect" characters turned into greedy human-eating creatures (making Capt. America the "" was the best). So, if you love cheesy horror flicks and you love Marvel (but aren't above seeing beloved Marvel characters mutilated and turned into flesh-eating monsters) this series is a must-have.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Good story so farBy Thomas A. ZulliI am a huge fan of Marvel Zombies and I was a little disapointed in MZ3. But none the less, I bought MZ4 #1 and so far its pretty good. Zombie has a larger role in this one with making cameos throughout the original issues. First he was the "merc with a mouth" ( in general), then the "merc with half a mouth" (MZ3) and now he is the "merc with only a mouth". Good plot.I think Marvel is really really taking this a bit too far though. Its still great but how many times can they do this? If Marvel once to do it again maybe for MZ5 it should be the last and have a Civil War like arc that extends through other comics. Maybe a Zombie war between the marvel universe and the zombie.Im still going to buy the issues but the comic series should be like the zombies and be dead.

Elsa Bloodstone is stationed on the Shield, burdened with the Sisyphean task of keeping the zombie hordes from rampaging through Battleworld. In those moments where she's not enrapt in the throes of battle, she meditates on her deceased father...how everything he taught her gave her the means to fi ght the zombies, but all the love he didn't give her is what motivated the self-destructive actions that landed her on the Wall in the fi rst place. But when she sees a human child caught in the middle of the zombieverse, she'll muster every ounce of determination she has to throw herself into the zombie horde to rescue the girl. And once she fi nds her, she's going to have to fight her way back out... COLLECTING: MARVEL ZOMBIES (2015), MARVEL ZOMBIES (2006) 1
