Daniel Coats, 6-3, 250, Tight End: Daniel Coats has been named to the John Mackey Award FUTURE NON-CONFERENCE SCHEDULES “watch list.” The John Mackey Award is given annually to the nation’s top tight end. Last season 2005: at Notre Dame, Boston College , Utah State as a freshman, Coats recorded 30 receptions for 378 yards and four touchdowns, while earning freshman All-America honors from The Sporting News. Coats caught two passes in the season 2006: at Boston College opening game against the Irish–both for 16 yards. He caught his third pass of the season against 2007:Arizona, at UCLA Stanford to bring his totals for the season to three catches for 41 yards.
