ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14 (2)

Temporary Road Closure Uxbridge Road, Hampton Hill

Temporay one-way working Cranmer Road and St James’s Road, Hampton Hill Ref 13/054

1. The Council of the Borough of Richmond upon Thames HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that to facilitate works to repair a collapsed water main they will introduce a road closure in Uxbridge Road, Hampton Hill and a one-way system in two streets forming part of the diversion route.

2. Whilst the works take place no person may permit a vehicle to proceed in that section of Uxbridge Road between Cranmer Road and Park Road. These restrictions will apply at any time and when prescribed traffic signs are displayed.

3. The road closure will come into force on 29 April 2013. It is anticipated that the road will remain closed until 3 May 2013. Vehicular access will be maintained for local residents, including Grenville Mews

4. An alternative route for traffic travelling in a north westerly direction along Uxbridge Road towards Park Road is via Cranmer Road north eastwards (one-way only) and Park Road. Traffic travelling in a south westerly direction from Park Road will be St James’s Road (one-way only), Windmill Road and Uxbridge Road.

5. Nothing in the Order will apply to: (a) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works; or (b) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police officer in uniform or a traffic warden.

6. The measures described will be introduced by this notice given under Section 14(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended. The notice will come into effect on 29 April 2013 and remain in force until the works are complete, or for a period of 5 days, whichever is the shorter. They may be extended by an order made under section 14(1) of the said Act.

7. The prohibitions will apply only during such time and to such extent as indicated by prescribed traffic signs.

8. Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by this notice or the subsequent order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.
