Installation Guide: Switch: Pica8 P-3295 Prerequisites We are assuming that you have successfully configured and launched ONOS and Quagga. Once connected, assign an IP address to the management port and establish an IP route to the gateway. Important things to know: The console port provides serial access to the switch. The Ethernet management port is used for out-of-band network management tasks. Before using a management port for the first time, an IP address must be assigned to that port. Console Port The console port is located at the front of the switch (see Figure 1). You can connect a terminal or computer to the console port using a serial or RS-232 cable. The accessory kit includes an RJ-45 to DB-9 adapter cable. Port Settings When connecting a terminal or computer to the console port, use the following settings: The baud rate is 115200 The data bits value is 8 The stop bits value is 1 User Log In PicOS operates in two modes. Layer 2 / Layer 3 mode (L2/L3). This is the default mode.
