Season 7 Sponsorship Opportunities

Story. Ex Fabula is a nonprofit founded in 2009, dedicated to strengthening community bonds through the art of storytelling. Ex Fabula founders are proud of the organization that they created and continue their involvement as Board Directors and staff. By producing live storytelling events, we celebrate the power of true and personal stories to connect us. Paradoxically, stories reveal our shared humanity while also acknowledging that each person’s journey is unique. We can learn a lot from listening to the life experiences of those who are different from us. Each tale of struggle, triumph, and discovery reveals who we are Small group exercise at a Storytelling Workshop. They said, ‘You’re here from Bronzeville to Bay View and Westtown to Sherman Park. alone? You won’t feel alone by the time the event ends.’ I have to say, they were right.” – UWM Service Learner Tony Hernandez Sr. Stage. At seven Story Slams, any audience member can put his or her name in the hat for a chance to share a true, personal story on stage. Each story should be related to the evening’s unique theme and must be told in 5 minutes or less without notes. At event close, the audience votes and crowns an audience favorite. The December Spectacular features new, 10-minute stories from individuals selected by Ex Fabula storytelling coaches. This noncompetitive event at Turner Hall Ballroom highlights tellers who told compelling stories at regular season Slams alongside tellers from community partnerships. At the end of the season, Ex Fabula ALL STARS brings all the audience favorite storytellers back to Turner Hall to share new 10-minute stories, and the audience crowns a season audience favorite. At each event, audience members may submit “UltraShorts”, which are brief, true personal stories written on slips of paper and then read onstage by the emcee.
