Speedway during Sunday’s Xfinity 500. Custer was knocked out of the championship hunt after the Round of 16 but still has two more opportunities to earn his second Cup Series win in his rookie season. The Ford driver makes his second Cup Series start at the Virginia track. In June, Custer started 27th but fought a tight-handling Mustang throughout the event and ultimately finished 29th. Custer has six NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series starts at Martinsville. The California native earned one pole award in October 2015 and, with the exception of his April 2016 start, he’s earned a top-10 starting position each time at the .526- mile track.
