Julie E. Czerneda Her first novel, A Thousand Words for Stranger, was published in 1997 to rave reviews, including being a finalist for the Campbell Best New Writer award. Since then, Canadian author/editor Julie E. Czerneda has continued to share her love and curiosity about living things through her , writing about shapechanging semi- immortals, terraformed worlds, salmon researchers, and the perils of power. Her novel, In the Company of Others won the Prix Aurora in 2001, as did her short story that same year, “Left Foot on a Blind Man.” Her fourteenth novel from DAW Books was her first , A Turn of Light , winner of the 2014 Aurora. Now a series, Night’s Edge, Book #2 was released in 2014, A Play of Shadow .

As a professional editor of fiction and non-fiction, Julie has fifteen SF/F anthologies in print, including the Tales from the Wonder Zone series, winner of the Golden Duck Award, and a Canadian Science Writers Association Award (for Polaris ). Her first for DAW, Space Inc. won an Aurora Award as did Under Cover of Darkness, co-edited by Jana Paniccia. Her favourite “win” however remains the dozens of first-time sales to be found in her anthologies.

But her first story, begun in Thousand and grown into the Clan Chronicles, isn’t done quite yet. Julie’s in the midst of writing the finale trilogy, with This Gulf of Time and Stars, Book #1 of Reunification out in Nov 2015, to be followed by The Gate to Past Sept 2016.
