Rev. Theodore A. Koehler, S.t~. Marian Library Dayton, Ohio 45469 Dear Father Koehler: I was delighted to hear that the Mariological Society of America will be meeting in Dayton in May of 1984. I believe that theological scholar ship in general is very important to the ongoing life of the Church. In that context, and given the importance of the Blessed Mother to the life of all Christians, the Christian conmunity scholars ~1ho concern themselves with the theology of Mary do a very special service to the Church. I am glad they will be here in the Archdiocese of Cincinnati, and I welcome them in advance. As for mY participation with a prayer and welcome address, I'm afraid that my schedule will not permit that. I suggest, however, that you may wish to con tact Bishop Garland to be with you for the occasion if he is able.

With best ~1ishes, I am Sincerely yours in Christ,

'fl.

Most Rev. Daniel E. Pilarczyk Archbishop of Cincinnati
