Operated VLE equipment to generate vapour pressure of water, methanol. Performed experiment on distillation column (2 feet with ceramic rings and 4 feet with wire mesh) for efficient separation of methanol and trimethylorthoformate binary mixture considering crucial parameters such as pot temperature, vapour temperature, reflux ratio, cuts. Calculated mass balance, % distillation, % loss, % recovery of residue product. Performed experiment on reaction calorimeter equipment for esterification reaction of acetic acid and ethanol with conc. H2 SO4 catalyst to measure heat of reaction and power consumption. Calculated volume of reactor, heat transfer area, rate of reaction. Performed hydrolysis reaction of ethyl acetate with NaOH in batch reactor and studied the kinetics of reaction by integral and differential method (rate of reaction, order of reaction) Operated Advanced reactor system screening tool (ARSST) equipment for analysis of compounds such as pentadecane, DMPAT, DPMP, TPPI, MPMP.
