Cookeville native Jeff Riedel had quite the week for the Ball State University baseball team, as he tied he tied the NCAA Division I record for most doubles in a single game with five. The senior outfielder’s feat was part of a huge performance by the Cardinals on Friday, as they swept Western Carolina University (N.C.) in a doubleheader. In the second game, Riedel finished 5-for-6 with five doubles, three runs scored and six runs batted in as Ball State routed the Catamounts 20-8. Friday’s outburst wasn’t the only huge game for Riedel during the week.
