To be held from 26 to 30 March 2014, in the City of Barbacena - Minas Gerais – Brazil. It will be an honor to have your national team in our country, attending the most important in Latin Mountain biking event. Our country, and take charge of our National Federation warmly welcome and will feel pleasantly in our Nation. We are all to help and assist in any way necessary for them to make the most of this edition of the Pan American Championships , so with you have any question do not hesitate to contact us, and we will send a personalized response. CONVOCATORY XVIII PAN AMERICAN CHAMPIONSHIPS MOUNTAIN BIKE From 26 to 30 March 2014 BARBACENA, Minas Gerais, Brazil

The COPACI, CPMTB en CBC - Brazilian National Federation of Cycling invites all National Federations affiliated to the Pan American Cycling Confederation (COPACI) to participate in the XVIII Pan American Mountain Bike Championships in the categories of Cross Country, Downhill and Time Relay, to be held at from Wednesday 26 March to Sunday 30 March 2014. In Barbacena - Minas Gerais - Brazil

PLACE OF THE EVENT

Barbacena Founded on August 14, 1791, Barbacena is a traditional city in the Zona da Mata of Minas Gerais. A town surrounded by the mountains Mário and Cruz das Almas, in Planalto da Serra da Mantiqueira, in the central area of the state. According to an estimation in July 2013, its population was at around 132.980 inhabitants. Barbacena has exuberant scenery. Land of mountains, beautiful landscape and enchanting historical trails, which enrich the region and tourism. The diverse architecture of its churches, the internationally acclaimed theater groups, the psychiatric hospital stories and the preparatory school Cadetes do Ar, the pioneering of tapestries, the roses, the background of traditional families of Minas who were front and center in national politics, those are some of what the town has to offer. Located high up the Mantiqueira, 1.164m de above sea level, Barbacena's coordinates are 21°13’33 S and 43°46’25 W, na area covering 790.000 m². It is 175 Km from the capital of the state, , 95 Km from and 273 Km from . Strategically located between the many brazilian regions. Barbacena has na area of approximately

780 Km², with demographic density of 0,18 inhab./Km². The town borders with Barroso, Carandaí, , Santos Dumont, Antônio Carlos, , , Santa Bárbara do Tugúrio, , São João del-Rei and Prados. The climate is humid tropical and mild summers. It's a mountain range region, with South Polar air waves, bringing a lot of humidity. The temperatures range between 24°C in the summer and 13°C in the winter, which reflects upon the pleasant climate. The vegetation is made by fields in the higher planes and what is left o the Atlantic Forest. The city is in the route called Estrada Real, with well-structured hotel chains, restaurants, commerce, hospitals, airport, firehouse, SAMU (ambulance service for emergencies) and efficient patrolling. The city is fully prepared to welcome you and yours, come visit us! The Pan American Mountain Bike Championships will be held in the Park Exposições Barbacena Route BR 265 Km Barbacena – MG - BRAZIL

PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS 1. License U.C.I. with effect December 31, 2014 and the passport or ID – identification with photo . 2. Participating countries should send the completed Application Forms and Registration of the Athletes, Delegates and Mechanicals; to the allocation to the respective hotels will be according to the registration form . 3 . Each country may enter a maximum of 10 riders for the categories Elite, Under 23 and Junior. To Youth and Masters categories there are no limit to number of the riders per country. 4. It shall submit one entry form per category and specialty. 5. The Organization will provide hotel and meal for 16 riders and 2 delegates per delegation . The program will begin on March 25 , with accreditation and registration fee , but remember that the organization will provide accommodation and meals from lunch on Wednesday, March 26, 2014 , ending with breakfast on Monday March 31, 2014 . 6. Registration cost will be $ S 40.00 for each participant and for each specialty except for team relay race . 7. The deadline date of to return the registration form is March 16, 2014. 8. For the transfer of delegations from the airport to the official hotels of the event, each Federation must send the amount of Athletes, Delegates and Mechanicals , with arrival and departure schedule showing the date , number and time of flight to the International Airport from Rio de Janeiro - Galeão - City of Rio de Janeiro , until March 16, 2014 . 9. The organization will not be responsible for the reception of delegations for transport and reception at the airport, those representations that do not submit the information requested above. 10. The reception at the airport will be for one arrival of Official Delegation. 11. Official representations must contemplate the UCI Regulations regarding clothing representative of each country. The organization will provide first aid for accidents, all delegations present. The participants must have an Accident and Health Insurance .

7. The delegations must to send within deadlines confirmed to the application form complete with UCI Code and Document Number or Passport. 8. The UCI Disciplinary Regulations applied, since the arrival of the delegations and until the end of the competitions, so the organization recommends them good behavior and discipline, both in official event schedules , and outside them, and concerned in lodging , restaurant , outdoor etc . 9. All damages or breakages that cause will be the responsibility of the represented country , promising to pay the damages and application of the UCI Regulations. 10. The organization is not responsible for the cancellation of the extra services used by each delegation as : PHONE , FAX , INTERNET, LAUNDRY , ROOM SERVICE , BAR , TRANSPORTATION AND FOOD NOT LISTED IN THE ORGANIZATION , ETC. 11. Each delegation must be provided the National Flag and Anthem.

The Team Relay race has no entry fee. Any change of schedule or regulation will be published in the website of the Event listed above or will be made at the Managers Meeting.

UCI Panamerican Champion Jersey - COPACI Champion in each category and modality. UCI Ranking Points International , according to the regulation. To substantiate the championship in each official category called herein, shall participate in the competition at least three nations. If there was a category where three nations not find or more represented, the competition will not take place and category unsuccessful.

Classification of the Nations

1º place - Trophy 2º place - Trophy 3º place – Trophy

In case of ties, will be defined by the number of gold medals in the first place , if the tie persists, the number of silver medals , if still a tie , the number of bronze medals , if still tied defined by the best position of nations in dispute in the last competition .
