In so doing, Lasoski left little doubt that the Guy Forbrook No. 5 team was back. www.KnoxvilleRaceway.com Page 1 of 72 Terry McCarl took the immediate lead from his front row starting position with Scott Whitworth chasing him through the first six laps. Chris Walraven then took over the McCarl chase as the front-runners forged through lapped traffic. Lasoski was third. On the thirteenth circuit, McCarl bobbled between turns three and four when he came upon a lapped car and that was all that Lasoski needed as he quickly placed the Schnee chassis into the top spot when he flew by the front two cars. Lasoski then pulled away from the field to take his 57th Knoxville win, just two wins shy of the record 59 set by Doug Wolfgang. In garnering the victory, Lasoski shattered the 20-lap record by ten seconds. Lasoski, who has rejoined the Forbrook team this season after a two year leave, was paid $2,500 for his efforts. McCarl held the runner-up position and Walraven was third. Whitworth placed a close fourth, Ryan Jamison was fifth and Steve Beitler finished sixth. Jerry Richert Jr., Skip Jackson, Jaymie Moyle and Randy Smith rounded out the top ten finishers. The 5th Annual Skoal Racing 360 Limited Sprints Points Series got underway as Randy Martin took that division’s feature event. It was Martin’s seventh career win in the limited division and paid the Missouri pilot $950 for his efforts. 1995 division champion Larry Pinegar II qualified out of the B feature and then passed ten cars on the opening lap of the A main to finally settle for a second place finish. Brett Golik, Bruce Drottz and Mike Houseman rounded out the top ten finishers. Thirty-five 410 and thirty-three 360 sprint cars competed during the evening. 410 Results Time Trials (Qualifying Order): 1. 5, Danny Lasoski, Dover, MO (29) 15.643; 2. 4, Jaymie Moyle, Knoxville, IA (35) 15.878; 3. 7, Dennis Moore Jr., Grinnell, IA (27) 15.946; 4. 55, Steve Beitler, Sedro Woolley, WA (28) 15.958; 5. 1J, Marlon Jones, Sioux Falls, SD (33) 15.966; 6. 51J, Ryan Jamison, West Burlington, IA (3) 15.988; 7. 56, Chris Walraven, Knoxville, IA (11) 16.047; 8. 96, Scott Whitworth, Worthington, MO (18) 16.084; 9. 12, Bob White, Des Moines, IA (6) 16.145; 10. 10, Skip Jackson, Sydney, NSW, Aust. Welcome to the Virtual Blog of the 2020 Mega Month of Money tour WEEK 5 Thursday July 9th to Wednesday July 15th Trev and the late Jason Johnson - Feb 2018 Kennedy Space Centre, Cape Canaveral - Florida tour 2012 Target Ganassi Indianapolis – Month of Money 2013 Page 1 of 9 Day 29 / Thursday July 9th We didn’t visit a cheese factory while in Wisconsin. After all, you need to leave something to do when you go back. We’d had a great time over the last five days, but it was now time to depart and go back down south into Illinois. After much soul searching, the chosen route for our 337 miles, six-hour journey to Springfield was a rather lacklustre drive. Apologies to anyone reading this who lives along Interstates 43 or 39. One of America’s favourite past times is arguing with your best friend or neighbour about what route to take when you’re driving long distance somewhere. There are so many choices and options that are possible, but every one of them will have some impediment that looms large in the mind of one of the debaters, but not at all to the other one. It’s actually good fun and it used to be standard procedure (pre-GPS units) in the days when road maps were indispensable for everyone. But not if you’re Stubb, the man with a mind like a steel trap. The night before he sets out, he grabs a pen and paper and sits down at the kitchen table and stares blankly into space for about 10 minutes.
